As you make your way through the scenic suburbs, you’ll come across practising rowers and other cyclists. The modest 6.5-mile length makes this route perfect for a couple’s afternoon ride in the sun.

Wicken Fen Nature Reserve

Length: 18 miles

Start your journey at Jesus Green and make your way along the right-hand side of the river before crossing Riverside Bridge and heading down Route 11. Follow the signs for Ely and before you know it, you’ll find yourself at the beautiful Wicken Fen Nature Reserve. Along the way, you’ll discover all kind of natural hidden gems including wildlife and plants. Set off from King’s Hedges Road and follow the busway under the A14 towards Oakington. The route will lead you through and around some of the most beautiful countrysides in Cambridgeshire and the straight line alongside the busway means that if you’re training, you can get your head down and do some serious cycling.

Gog Magog

Length: 11 miles

Discover the hills of Cambridge as you put your legs to work on this difficult but rewarding route. Follow Hills Road south before heading left towards Wort’s Causeway. Soon enough you’ll find yourself pedalling up and down the Chalk Downs and while your legs may suffer slightly, your eyes will be rewarded with incredible views of rolling hills and gaping valleys.
