From Glasgow or Edinburgh travel to Oban and then take the ferry from Oban to Colonsay.
Drive or take a train to Oban. From Glasgow, the drive takes about 2.5 hours. The train journey is approximately 3.5 hours.
Ferry from Oban to Colonsay:
Take a Caledonian MacBrayne ferry from Oban to Colonsay. The ferry ride typically takes around 2 to 2.5 hours. Make sure to check the ferry schedule for specific departure times.
Arriving in Scalasaig:
Once you arrive at the Colonsay ferry terminal, Scalasaig is only a short distance away (about 1 mile or 1.6 kilometers). You can walk or take a local taxi to the hotel.
Walking Directions:
If you choose to walk from the ferry terminal to the hotel - Head southeast towards the main road (A837). Follow the signs to Scalasaig, where the Colonsay hotel is located.
