The town of Borehamwood is located on 12 miles from Charing Cross in London. The town is perhaps most well known for its film and TV studios, commonly known as Elstree Studios.
Since the 1920s, the town has been home to several film studios and many shots of its streets are included in final cuts of 20th century British films. This earned it the nickname of the "British Hollywood".
Visit the Elstree and Borehamwood Museum which is an independent local history museum which opened its doors in 2000. The Museum’s features collects and displays of the history of the local area.
