Fermanagh

Fermanagh is Northern Irelands Lake District, it is known for its stunning scenery, historical landmarks and diverse experiences. Fermanagh shares a border with the Republic of Ireland and is home to famous poets including Oscar Wilde and Samuel Beckett. This county is particular well known as a fishing lake with the common fish being salmon and brown trout. 

Fermanagh is renowned for its Lakelands, the first destination for any keen walker is the Cuilagh Mountain, the highest summit in the county standing at 665m (2.181ft). The country is home to one of the most recognisable Global Geopark UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world - the Marble Arch Caves due to its unique geology. It makes a perfect destination for outdoor enthusiast, families and couples.

The Marble Arch Caves
Take a subterranean boat trip through the underground caves of the Marble Arch Caves where you are guided through underground rivers, secret winding passages and chambers situated within the Marble Arch Global Geoparks. As this is one of only two UNESCO sites in Northern Ireland and one of the 122 geoparks worldwide!

Marble Nature Reserve
Clinging to the steep side of the Cladagh River gorge, this nature reserve is arguably one of the highlights within the Marble Arch Global Geopark. With hanging rocks and nature reserves, this wooden glen is very atmospheric which involves twists and turns revealing specular sights and scenery.

Enniskillen Castle
Set on the edge of the River Erne, Enniskillen Castle Its award winning exhibitions cover the history of Fermanagh, the county's traditional rural life and local crafts. Another attraction within Enniskillen Castle is the Inniskillings Museum with its collection of uniforms, weapons, medals and memorabilia dating back to the 17th Century. 

Castle Coole
Castle Coole is one of Ireland’s finest Neo- classical mansion owned by the National Trust, allowing visitors to experience what life was like in the home of Earls of Belmore. Situated in Enniskillin, you can also relax and rewind over lunch in the Tallow tea room.

Florencecourt Forest Park
Situated in Enniskillen, this forest park is ideal for strolling and admiring the countryside at a leisurely pace. Florencecourt Forest Park has beautiful gardens, walks, exhibitions, picnic areas, nature reserves and fishing lakes ideal for families or couples to explore the great outdoors! It is also a wonderful place for cycling trails, pony trekking or a simple tour within the forest. 

Belleek Pottery Visitor Centre
Established in 1857, Belleek Pottery holds a special place in the cultural heritage of county Fermanagh. Located on the banks of the River Erme and is home to the world famous Belleek fine Parian China. You can participate in guided tours, take a walk around the on-site museum and visit the audio theatre. This attraction was winner of “Best Visitor Experience” in Northern Ireland Tourism Awards 2014!

Inniskillings Museum
Located in Enniskillen, the Inniskillings Museum allows visitors to experience a journey through more than 300 years of world history as encountered by two famous regiments. Experience a rich collection of personal treasures, souvenirs, weapons, army vehicle, medals and regimental silver. 

Headhunters Barber Shop and Railway Museum
One of Northern Irelands most unique attractions located in Enniskillen. The museum has the largest collection of Irish memorabilia on display, exhibits like the stations masters office, booking office and signal box. Whether you are a railway enthusiast or a child who loves trains, why not combine your visit with the unique opportunity to have your hair cut in the most nostalgic of surroundings.
