Dalkeith is located in Midlothian on the River Esk, 7 1/2 miles from Edinburgh City Centre.
The town is home to Dalkeith Country Park which is one of the region’s most popular country parks. Here you’ll find walking routes along woodland paths, space to cycle in peace, and plenty to keep energetic kids amused. The Country Park is also a working estate, owned by the Duke of Buccleuch. There are 1000 acres of farmland and forestry. The carefully nurture and develop the woodlands to supply good quality timber for furniture and fuel. Generations of farmers have worked the fields and still currently produce crops, cattle, sheep and pigs.
