Lochniver is a village located on the West Coast of Scotland in the Assyn disctrict of Sutherland, Highland Scotland.

It is one of the largest villages in the West of Sutherland and is the second largest fishing post in Scotland. The village splits into three parts: the harbour, the village and the Baddidarrach along the shore.

This town is popular with outdoor enthusiasts including hill walkers and mountain climbers. The famous outlines of the mountains of Canisp and Suilven dominate the landscape of Lochniver and is a tourist hotspot.

The fish market and fishing in trout lochs, salmon rivers and sea fishing is the town’s main attraction however there are many other attractions. The highland stoneware – one of the Highlands most successful potteries. The highland and Rare Breeds Farm and the Assynt Visitor Centre is well worth a visit which contains displays of history, landscape and wildlife of the village.

The village has a wide range of facilities for tourist including craft & gift shops, boutique shops as well as restaurants and bars.
