Many of the old streets were once lined with crooked weavers cottages, a few examples still remain. Richard Arkwright who revolutionised the textile industry in 1769 with the invention of his water frame known as The Spinning Jenny lived in Preston, his house, now a centre for Age Concern can be seen down Stoneygate. Preston now offers a large variety of things to do for example why not visit the national museum, the historic houses or the largest outdoor motor sport and paintball facility centre in the North West.
