Things to see and do in Aberdour
Aberdour is a charming seaside town located in Fife with two beautiful beaches, a harbour, castle, golf course and a variety of traditional pubs and shops.
Silver Sands Beach in Aberdour is one of the finest beaches in Scotland and enjoys vies overlooking the Firth of Forth towards Edinburgh and the Lothians. The beach is ideal for watersport enthusiasts, walkers and is great fun for families.
The second beach in Aberdour is called Black Sands is is located by the harbour.
Aberdour’s main attraction is its castle. Built by the Douglas family, the 13th century and features a gallery, fine painted ceiling and a delightful walled garden with a beehive-shaped dovecote. St Fillian’s Church is also located within the castle grounds. More recently the castle was used in the popular Outlander TV series as a Benedictine monastery.
For those who enjoy a round of golf the 18 hole Aberdour Golf Club lies to the west of the town and boasts stunning views over the coast
