Things to see & do in Bannockburn

Bannockburn is located south of the city of Stirling. The village is named after the Bannock Burn, a burn (small stream) running through the village before flowing into the River Forth.

The village is more commonly known for being the location of the Battle of Bannockburn fought in 1314 which was one of the most historic battles of the 13th & 14th century Wars of Independence between Scotland and England. A large monument to Robert the Bruce and the National Trust for Scotland Visitor Centre can be found near to the site of the battlefield.
