Dunblane lies a few miles north of Stirling above the hills of the Forth valley with the Allan water flowing through the town.
In Victorian times Dunblane became a popular Spa town as people who were wealthy liked to escape from the cities to this relaxing town on the new railway which was opened in Dunblane in 1848. One of the main attractions is Dunblane Cathedral which is about 600 years old.
