The fly fishing on the lake is excellent and it is an ideal location for beginners and more experienced anglers alike.
Fly fishing is usually done from one of the estate boats but at certain times of the year fly fishing from the bank can be very good.
Boats are available for the lake and tuition is available for those wishing to improve their fishing.

Fishing on the River Aire
The one-mile length of the River Aire provides the river fly fisher with the opportunity for some challenging fly fishing for its wild Brown Trout, some of which are more than 2 lbs. The River Aire has excellent hatches of fly and offers good sport to dry fly and nymph tactics.

The Coniston Hall lake and the River Aire are open for fly fishing from 1st April to 1st October inclusive
