The Inveraray Inn in Inveraray was originally built in 1750 to accommodate guests visiting the glorious Inveraray Castle, the entrance to which is adjacent to the hotel. Few hotels have such a long and distinguished history as the Argyll Hotel, which was formerly known as the Great Inn.

To the front of the Inveraray Inn in Inveraray are stunning views over Loch Shira and Loch Fyne, ideal for freshwater or sea fishing. This Inveraray Hotel also has a dramatic backdrop of mountain ranges making it a great location for bird watching or walking breaks.

Each of this Hotel's bedrooms has individual character and charm, and many of the rooms have views over the lochs and mountains.

The Conservatory Restaurant serves the best of local produce whether it's in their hearty Scottish breakfasts or mouth-watering dinners.

Each of the 36 bedrooms at the Inveraray Inn has full en-suite facilities and has been individually decorated with plenty of character and charm. Many of the bedrooms feature beautiful views over the surrounding lochs and mountains. A spiral staircase locates all bedrooms, apart from 1 - the cottage room.

There is one ground-floor double bedroom, which is category three-disabled access.

At the hotel's Conservatory Restaurant Sample the best of all that is Scottish with fresh locally sourced produce. Enjoy a delicious Scottish breakfast or mouth-watering dinners from the seasonal menus.

Breakfast: 7:30pm - 9:30pm

Bar meals and light snacks are served in the Lounge or Argyll Bar, as well as a wide range of malt whiskies, draught beers and world wines.

Please note that the a la carte menu is served in the summer months only. The table d'hote menu is available year-round.

NOTICE TO GUESTS REGARDING STAIRS: The hotel is more than 250 years old and is a heritage building. The authorities have not permitted us to install a passenger or cargo lift and we are unable to offer porterage. Most of our bedrooms are accessed via an original spiral staircase (27 steps) that some guests may find challenging particularly if carrying baggage. Please consider requesting a ground-floor or at least a first-floor bedroom at the time of booking if you are concerned about the stairs.) A ground floor room is available in the Annex Building, please call to check the availability

Dinner Inclusions - When staying on a rate inclusive of dinner guests will receive an allowance of £25 per person towards the evening meal unless otherwise stated. This is for food only.

There is a great range of visitor attractions on the Inveraray Inn's doorstep. The most popular attractions are Inveraray Jail, the former county courthouse and county prison for Argyll, where there were a number of Jailbreaks!

Inveraray Castle is still home to the Duke and Duchess of Argyll and Ben Cruachan Power Station ("Hollow Mountain").

If you are interested in exploring the Highlands & Islands then the Inveraray Inn, Inveraray makes a great base as Oban is just 39 miles away with ferries to Iona, Tiree, Colonsay and Mull. The Kenna Craig ferry to Islay is only 48 miles south on the stunning Kintyre Peninsula.

Are there any accessible rooms?
One accessible room in the Annex building has it own front door, alarm pull cord, toilet & shower grab rails in the wet room. Wide access doors for wheelchairs. Please call MHB to book this room.
Are dogs welcome?
Yes, dogs are welcome in the bedrooms, reception, public bar and beer garden. Unfortunately not in the Lounge bar or dining room where breakfast is served and are charged £15 per dog per night.
Does this hotel have a lift?
No, there is a steep winding staircase with approximately 27 steps up to the 1st floor.
Does this hotel have ground floor rooms?
Yes, the hotel does have 1 ground room which is located in an Annex which is not in the main hotel building. If you do require this room please do contact My Hotel Break on 01357 529 129 and we will be able to check availability and book this for you.
