Location & Directions

Directions to Bagden Hall Hotel in Scisset near Huddersfield

By Road
If travelling on the M1 from the South:

Leave the motorway at junction 38

Take the Huddersfield exit (A637)

Continue on this road, go straight over the next very small roundabout and through the village of West Bretton you will eventually come to a large roundabout

At this roundabout turn left to join the A636, this is signposted ‘Denby Dale’

Follow this road for approximately 10 minutes travelling through the villages of Clayton West and then Scissett. As you are leaving Scissett village Bagden Hall is just round the bend on the left-hand side. There is a signpost at the bottom of the driveway.

If travelling on the M1 from the North:

Leave the motorway at junction 39

Turn right at the roundabout and take the 3rd exit which is the A636 signposted ‘Denby Dale’

Do not now leave this road until you reach Bagden Hall

You will come to one large roundabout – go straight over continuing on the A636

Continue through the villages of Clayton West and then Scissett (speed camera). As you are leaving Scissett village Bagden Hall is just round the bend on the left-hand side. There is a signpost at the bottom of the driveway.

If travelling from Huddersfield Centre:

Leave Huddersfield on the A629 signposted Sheffield

Keep on this road for approximately 20/25 minutes

You will go through Waterloo, Kirkburton, Shelley & Shepley (at all times staying on the A629)

After travelling through the village of Shepley look out for a pub on the right-hand side of the road (The Sovereign) and an Esso garage on the left (The Sovereign Garage)

Turn left here to join the A635 – do not leave this road at any point. As you approach the village of Denby Dale just before reaching the viaduct the road actually becomes the A636 (you would have to actually take a right-hand turn here to stay on the A635 – if you do this you will be on the wrong road) – continue underneath the viaduct and through the village of Denby Dale (speed cameras) and through a little residential area signposted Kitchenroyd.
