The chef’s main focus in the main restaurant is to create a menu using imagination, a fusion of modern and traditional Scottish and International cuisine. The Cafe Caledonian offers more informal dining available all day and an extensive wine list.

Follow in the footsteps of the great travellers of the past and seek out one of these large well-appointed bedrooms. These rooms boast magnificent west facing views looking at Oban Bay to the Hebridean Island of Mull & the mountains of Morvern. (Upgrade supplement applies)
Ocean View Rooms
Premium Ocean View rooms guarantee uninterrupted west facing views as above with feature bed. All have a distinct character and are standard in size. Ideal for those special breaks away. (Upgrade supplement applies)
Most standard rooms are of a similar size and standard to Ocean View rooms but have a view to McCaig's Folly or the Soroba Hills. Some are more compact but have an Ocean View.
Two disabled rooms are also available.
Bar & Restaurant
The Oban Caledonian’s two restaurants present the best of what is on offer in the Argyll area.
The Restaurant Caledonian is a Victorian dining room, carefully restored with chandeliers and ornate plaster. Each day the chefs create a fine dining menu, which skilfully reflects the best of Scotland’s larder. All of the dishes are freshly cooked
The Café Caledonian boasts wonderful views of the bay, a menu for all day dining and a cosmopolitan wine list.
Dinner is served from: 6.30pm - 9.00pm
Breakfast is served from: 6.45am - 10.00am
Directions to the Caledonian Hotel, Oban
The Caledonian Hotel is in the town centre overlooking Oban Bay, immediately opposite the Rail and Ferry terminals and close to all facilities.
Coming from the South, you will travel on the A82 Glasgow to Fort William road to Tyndrum where you join the A85 to Oban.
Coming from the North via Fort William take the A82 and cross the Ballachulish Bridge, when you come to a roundabout take the left hand (Oban – A828) exit. Follow the road across the Connel Bridge and at the T-junction turn left for Oban.
First ScotRail runs twice daily. Trains leave from Queen Street Station in Glasgow.
Citylink coaches stop directly outside the hotel and there are daily services from Glasgow, Inverness, Perth and Dundee.
Ferries from Mull, Colonsay, the Western Isles and more sail and berth just beyond the front door!
The nearest Airports are Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Oban is renowned for its glorious gardens, its fabulous views, the ocean promenade and the surrounding islands. Oban is also ideal for outdoor activities such as diving, hiking, fishing, bird-watching – even whale spotting.

The Oban Caledonian hotel is perfectly located for Oban's Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminal – just a 2 minute walk from the hotels' doorstep. This affords guests plenty of options for exploring the Hebrides and Western Isles. Mull, Coll, Tiree, Barra, South Uist, Colonsay, Lismore and Islay are all on direct ferry routes. From these islands you can travel further afield to Iona, Staffa and to many of the smaller less well known isles.
