New Southlands Hotel, Scarborough

Smooth easy check in. Recommended to book a parking place which has your name on it when you arrive. Room ok , staff very friendly .Evening meal OK and breakfast good and plentiful.

Room was quite big and comfortable bed. The heating was on in the morning but did not come on at night till 9pm so not good as weather had turned cold. Hotel in good location if you like walking. Breakfast was good but the evening meal was quite poor. Soup quite bland and was served with stale bread roll so sent that back. More customer service required in the restaurant. Reception and Bar staff lovely. Parking charged at 6 pounds a day which is acceptable , and our space was reserved for the 2 days we were there .

Lovely DBB weekend stay the hotel and staff were great the only downside was the evening meal,had roast beef, Yorkshire pud ect the beef was just scrap bits and fat would have liked slices of beef.however the breakfast was good.

The room was lovely and quite big and quite warm to begin with. Disappointments - Evening meal was not worth the £20 we were allowed for it. Mash was lumpy and vegetables were al dente, which is not something I like but I know other people do. The rhubarb crumble was immensely disappointing, more rhubarb that crumble. The breakfast more than made up for the disappointing evening meal. I was super pleased to see a bath in the room and was looking forward to having a wonderful hot bath before I went to bed, (I had even brought a bath ) but, unfortunately, the water was nowhere near hot enough to have a bath in.

The hotel is very clean abd the staff are excellent. Nothing too much trouble. Food basic but good and waiting staff very good. Spotless bedding and nice clean rooms. Entertainment good and most of the guests joined in. Friendly atmosphere and would recommend to anyone as vzlue for money

Stayed at this lovely hotel with my daughter and we both had a fantastic weekend. On the Friday evening the dining room staff had put a birthday card and gifts on the table for my daughter's birthday. My daughter was over the moon. Ruth and her staff will go out their way for you. Hotel is immaculate, customer service is second to none. Our room was lovely. Food was excellent and the entertainment was good too. On the Sunday evening the dining staff excelled themselves again as they had a birthday card and gifts set out on the table for my birthday too. It is all about the memories. Thanks again for a really great weekend. We both will definitely be coming back to stay in the future for another wee break

The New Southland is in a good possition for walking along the front or walking to the town. our room was lovely and clean with comfotable beds. It also had a nice bathroom. The meals at the Southland were good.especialy the breakfast which set us up for the day
