Hotel was beautiful, rooms very nice Only issue was the water pressure ( very low couldn't run a bath, shower was very weak Spoke to other guests same problem Maybe the age of the hotel Staff were all lovely , friendly, helpful Stayed 2 nights , first night service was very slow, we're not asked if we wanted a drink Was quite annoyed as only 5 tables of people Breakfast the next morning, served in different rooms, guy couldn't find coffee, then water ran out , again only 3 tables of people But I'd still stay again ,alot of staff were new They were all nice Everything was clean and it was just after new year

We had a fantastic time in the port Patrick hotel,loved it so much we stayed for a third night, We have not one complaint about it, the food was lovely, our room was upgraded to a seaview at no extra cost, and it was spotless and very comfortable, the pillows on the very comfortable bed were amazing, The one thing I would like to point out is the staff, every single one of them were amazing, so helpful and went out there way to help you, We will definitely come back in the summer, Thanks again to all.

Hotel staff very nicer, they where busy , bar, reception, restaurant, I hope they get a fair pay for there hard work,, we had a lovely sea view room, the girl at reception upgraded us, and the room was perfect, my only think I would mention is the menu, not bad choices but same thing every nite, we will visit again next year so 10 out of 10 for staff, 10 out of 10 for room and 8 out of 10 for food

My partner and myself had a brilliant time staying at your hotel we couldn’t ask for anything better because your staff where always there if you needed anything so it was a privilege to stay there and as for the weather it was just amazing next to the sea and the view excellent ?

Spent 3 nights at the hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful however, they must have struggled with this as there was nothing but complaints. Friday was fine, on Saturday we came back from our day out at teatime and tried to get a lager at the bar but no lager, and when staff checked were told there wouldn’t be any until Monday. Bearing in mind this was the folk festival weekend so seems unbelievable they had no stock. The food was poor, for breakfast and dinner only 2 main options for dinner our booking said we had £25 pp to spend on dinner however, there wasn’t a menu to allow us to do that. Staff tried their best with what they had but management really need to improve things if they want the hotel to succeed. I won’t be returning and other people I spoke to were of the same opinion and one had already cancelled their booking for October.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The position of the hotel is beautiful, with sweeping views of the harbour and out to sea. We had two rooms and both were clean with plenty of space. With only one table lamp, it was difficult to read in bed at night. There were plenty of tea/coffee etc. The evening meal was tasty, however not equivalent to £35.00 per person. One of our party had salmon which was not enjoyable. The reception staff, bar staff and restaurant staff were all very pleasant and kind to us, four elderly ladies. Overall, we had a very positive stay ot Portpatrick Hotel

The hotel was very dated and the room was very dirty. Lots of dust and grime in the room and the bathroom, especially around the skirting boards, windows, tea tray, bath and bathroom tiles. The kettle had moult in it and couldn't be used. The teaspoons had been used to eat yoghurt and not cleaned or replaced. I asked three times at the bar if an iron and ironing board could be sent to the room, which was relayed to the reception staff, but eventually I had to phone the hotel externally to get this to happen. The dinner was very basic although the breakfast was excellent both mornings. On our second day the bar ran out of prosecco and tonic. The bar staff were very good throughout and all staff were very friendly. The view is absolutely stunning and this would be the only thing that would bring us back to this particular hotel. The hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade throughout.

Feel the hotel could be doing with a major overhaul especially the windows which are completely rotten, the TV in the room was smaller than a computer screen, the outside patio area is lovely in the sun but benches could be doing with an upgrade or at least re varnished. Sometimes there were a few at the bar waiting for service as the staff seem to be doing 2 jobs at once, looking after reception & the bar. We had B&B with dinner one night, breakfast was great but dinner was a bit of a let down as a set menu with only 3 choices (one being veggie) and i think broccoli & sweetcorn came as a given with everything. Was ok for the 2 nights.

We have been to the Portpatrick Hotel a few times and keep returning as we do enjoy it. However this time they charge for parking something that was free in the past not really a problem as we have been charged in other places but instead of just giving the vehicle registration to the reception you have to phone the parking company a bit of an problem if you have restricted hearing plus when you do it does not give you the option for more than one day at a time? This should be made trouble free We ended up parking out on the road. Dining in the hotel the menu does not really cater for those staying several nights limited choice the food we had was good but not a lot of choice by the 3rd night. Breakfast was ok too but no porridge I did ask if it could be made to order but the server did not know a wee bit more information please. We will go back as the hotel is fine for a pleasant stay

I feel that I did get value for money, but there were issues that I don't think should be ignored. Overall it was a good stay and the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating, but I feel that, as often is the case, minimal staffing is an issue at this hotel. The poor young girl on duty had to juggle serving at the bar with checking guests into the hotel. As a result, there was often ody at the reception desk. I tried phoning ahead of time, on the day I checked into the hotel, to book a table for dinner, but my calls all went unanswered. Upon arrival I understood why. I feel there should be somebody permanently at reception, which was never the case throughout my stay. The accommodation was fine, however the heated towel rack did not work. The food was exceptional and certainly a highlight for me.

We booked for two nights with two dogs. I had read a few bad reviews after I had booked so was a bit apprehensive. The hotel room was tired and in need of fresh decor as with some parts of the hotel, however the staff were all fabulous. They were very helpful and super dog friendly. As for the view, it was absolutely stunning from the hotel. The breakfast was good too. They had small amounts of everything you would need which was replenished often. So all in I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The staff and the view were more than enough to make it a lovely stay.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel that has fantastic views from the hill top location and our twin room was spacious. The bathroom was modern with a raised shower cubical and wall panels in place of tiles. Breakfast was fine, but we weren't impressed with the evening meal. The salmon was a bit dry and possibly reheated or frozen.

Enjoyed a lovely relaxing break with our dogs. The staff were brilliant, very dog friendly, separate dining area that the dogs were allowed was perfect. Meal on the first night was excellent, sorry I didn't take pictures. Breakfast was also excellent. Room was clean and adequate for our stay. Beautiful views from the hotel on the hill, looking over Portpatrick. Nice walks, path down to the port and shops. Apart from the rainy weather, we had a fabulous time and would definitely love to go back when the sun is shining to enjoy the views on the hotel terrace.

Room average but clean no view but we had a dog so always limited. Food was lovely and separate lounge for people with dogs made us feel welcome. Hotel had spectacular views of the town and harbour we enjoyed our stay.
