What a lovely gem so close to Alton Towers. The hotel is stunning, a beautiful picturesque setting. The staff are just AMAZING! It has brilliant facilities including a luxurious Spa and sports facilities. The rooms are very spacious and great meal options. Will most definitely be coming back.

We spent a couple of nights here over Easter. The hotel is situated in lovely countryside and is approached by a fairly lengthy driveway. There's plenty of parking available very close to the hotel building. Reception was a very swift, professional process, and the staff seemed very willing to help. Our room was situated on the first floor and was well appointed with safe, cooler, large TV and separate bath/shower. I'm not sure how old the property is but one could be forgiven for thinking it's fairly new. The spa complex is absolutely lovely, good size pool with sauna and steam room. My wife took a treatment and described it as very good value for money and highly enjoyable. A good selection is offered at breakfast, my only slightly negative comment/suggestion would be to improve the offering at other meal times. I'm getting fairly tired of burgers/steaks/chicken tikka masala with a mini naan/'stone baked' pizza being offered at nearly every hotel up and down the country - why not offer something different, especially at a hotel like this one with a sports theme - maybe more healthy options? Anyhow, a lovely stay and we'd happily come back

After having a couple of issues at check-in, I would just like to shout out to Charlie in maintenance and the manager who worked incredibly hard and ensured every detail was taken care of to resolve our initial issue which could have been a massive let-down. For that reason, I've chosen to simply review the hotel based on the experience since then - Travelled in a part of 5 in 2 rooms. The rooms were nice and spacious and clean with nice little extras (music in the bathroom, mirrors with lights etc - just nice touches). The hotel complex itself is reaped in football history and heritage and as a huge football fan, it's hard not to get a little bit overwhelmed. England legends past and present walk through these doors and the hotel does well to capture the spirit of it. Lots of walks and football pitches to go an explore as well. We ate at the hotel for breakfast - Buffet style and lots of choice and even the fussiest amongst us were satisfied. Extra note, on the day of our check-out, I was watching the football and my daughter was gry. Even though the bar and the restaurant was closed, the chef came and spoke to my mum and made my daughter a bowl of chips and could not be more caring. All in all, fantastic hotel and stay but especially enhanced by those mentioned who really helped to make this trip memorable for my daughters 8th birthday

Check in was straightforward. The room was comfortable and room service was very good. It was good to have an iron and ironing board as well as a hair dryer.

The hotels feels smart when you walk in, foyer very nice and the football theme / screens / wall art is very good and appropriate. Bedrooms were of a very good standard - good style, modern, very clean. But annoying that bathroom door is opaque so light floods into bedroom in the middle of night when partner uses bathroom.
