The Mallyan Spout Hotel, Whitby

A real gem. We booked a 2 night break on a whim as a late winter/early Springtime treat and found this hotel by chance through MyHotelbreak's website. How lucky we did! A super location, a really lovely hotel and in a superb setting on the Moors. Everything about it was first class from the pretty room to the friendliness of the staff. The only thing missing was the blossoming heather, so we must come back.

We stayed at the Mallyan Spout Hotel for two nights in May as part of a group of thirteen on a walking holiday. Our experience of this hotel was brilliant, the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help, the bed in our standard double was huge and comfortable; there were so many pillows we had to put half of them in the wardrobe out of the way! The restaurant was good, choice of bar menu or restaurant menu and they even arranged the tables so we could sit together. Good choice of beer in the bar. Breakfast was good, plenty of cereals and fruit juice before having a cooked full English brought to the table. Loads of coffee and tea. The hotel itself is located on the outskirts of the village but this was ideal for us. We were so impressed we will visit again.

We felt totally spoilt at this hotel. The breakfasts were delicious, the staff were the friendliest ever. Especially Ashley behind the bar. Spotlessly clean. Fabulous views. The greatest chill out holiday. Wish we'd stayed longer than the 4 nights we were there. And when I left a cardigan behind, they were only too happy to post on to me once I got home. We'll definitely be back and we definitely recommend. Thank you all for a brilliant stay xx

Excellent breakfast. The view from our bedroom was good and we enjoyed the very well kept garden I like the decor and comfort of a traditional hotel. The evening brvice was slightly slow but the hotel was busy. Everything else was excellent.

Lovely comfortable hotel. Immaculately clean. Great staff and good food, all set in beautiful countryside. Surrounded by hills, sheep and some cute little shops and cafes. Would highly recommend.

The room was bright and clean and on top floor as requested. It suited my needs and I liked it. The view was of the rear garden and there was a small sitting area. The situation of the hotel is the bonus. Breakfast was fine. It is relaxed and they are generous about check out, which is nice. Always a good experience.
