It’s an experience hotel where you can imm yourself in the history of the place and make discoveries about what it would have been like to have been interred there, albeit in complete luxury and not as it would have been in the 18th century! Fabulous comfortable and well appointed rooms with all the amenities necessary and helpful staff to ensure your stay is comfortable. The restaurant food is delicious and beautifully presented, and a visit to the champagne bar a must. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, we were asked to book a time slot but the restaurant was madly busy and just seemed to be a bit disorganised! Having said that it was delicious once we were seated.

Staff were friendly, room was stunning, luxury without losing the feel of the jail. Food was amazing! Accessible! Worth the money. Central to things we had planned. There wasn't anything I didn't like. Well I would have liked to see a ghost, but that didn't happen.

Great breakfast, great experience, somewhere unique to stay, gorgeous rooms especially the bathroom. Maybe the gym could have been bigger / better, Bodmin jail is described as “luxury” maybe a spa / pool would make me consider the stay as true “luxury”. Maybe the tourist attraction / tour should be included in the room price or at least a discount off it. Otherwise not much we didn’t like.

I don't know what I was expecting, but this overnight stay with the prisoner experience and its itinerary was seriously the best fun I've had in ages. The hotel itself is impressive, the level of detail afforded to the bedroom and bathrooms is awesome and I cant rate the staff and amenities highly enough. A fantastic venue with superb customer service!

A lovely hotel and great rooms made from 3 original cells. Very quiet, huge bathroom with shower and bath. Comfortable bed with tea/coffee facilities plus mini fridge with complimentary drinks. Breakfast was great with fresh fruit, cereals plus cooked. Lots of choice. Restaurant main meals were expensive but if it’s a special occasion probably worth it.

What a wonderful stay. We stayed as Governors, made to feel very special and were very spoilt. The hotel is beautifully converted and a very special place to visit. The rooms are very luxurious, with beautiful bathrooms. However, the one negative of our stay was the bed and pillows. The bed is far too firm which meant I didnt have a good nights sleep. However, this didnt take away from the wonderful tour of the hotel and paranormal experience with Jazz, who was fantastic, thank you to Jazz, Tyler and the other lady, who's name I cant remember, for looking after and educating us. We were treated to the seven course taster menu, which had been, tailored to us, and was delicious. We were looked after during dinner and breakfast by a lovely garian lady, who's name, I am sorry, have forgotten, she was also fantastic. We also enjoyed a visit to the jail museum. Thank you to everyone for making our wedding anniversary very special in a very special place.
