Lovely hotel with a charming mixture or tradition and modern conveniences. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic.

We had an overnight stay here on the 26/11/2023. Arrived mid afternoon, got checked in and car registered for car park. Room was in the top floor, spacious and clean, nice bedding and bathroom, only disappointment was there wasn’t a mini fridge in room. We had dinner booked and breakfast in the morning. Dinner was from the table d Holte menu, it was ok, starter was nice, main course but slightly disappointing the triple cooked chips were over cooked, but fish was beautifully cooked. Dessert was ok. Great nights sleep in a comfortable bed, room was just warm enough, nice bathroom with shower and bath.Breakfast was very good plenty of choice in both the cooked section and the continental section. Staff are very helpful and pleasant nothing is too much trouble. Overall I would book this hotel again, it is in the old town part of Stirling and a short walk to lots of bars, cafes, Restaurants and the local small shops and shopping centre. Discovered that Stirling Castle is at the top of the road the hotel is on, so know where it is for next visit.

Nice food but could have a daily special as menu was the same every day. Needs a bit of updating as bare carpet in some parts and definitely needs double glazing as the draught from the window was freezing.

Very disappointed in our stay at the Highland Hotel in Stirling. The ceiling in our room had ongoing plasterwork which was not completed, a burnt-out lampshade and frayed towels. The carpets on the landing were also frayed. We were also asked to pay the full amount on arrival rather than departure. This is not what I expected for £185 a night!!

Lovely hotel right in the centre of things, full of character and pet friendly. Great food and lots of choice, booked a DBB option and the allowance for dinner covered nearly all menu choices. Will be book this hotel again. Most staff are very cheerful but not all.

Hotel had not been well maintained or renovated since my last visit 3 years ago. Bedrooms need refurbished, they were stuffy and didn't smell too fresh due to windows not being opened and bedrooms and bathrooms were tired and grubby. Main bar and restuarant carpet was tatty. No a la carte menu was available for dinner in the restuarant, only a reduced menu on offer with no steak option available even at an extra charge and the lamb was off the menu by 7.30 (5 out of 6 in my group had chosen this from menu) with no steak as an option!!! Staff were short on the ground and seemed inexperienced, bar was closed to residents at 10.15p.m. on a Sunday night, the 12 residents who were enjoying a drink were moved into a small lounge and advised to go down to reception ( from 3rd floor ) and order their drink from the night porter, who then contacted the bar person in the adjoining room to us (in the bar, up in the 3rd floor) who poured the drink and held it over to the customer, who had by then made their way back up to the bar area on the 3rd floor, unbelievable!!! Customers enjoying a drink in the lounge had to clear their own glasses and the table we had been using before getting changed for dinner had not been wiped down or cleaned when we returned to the lounge for pre-dinner drinks. Definitely not the 4 star hotel with very high standards we visited 3 years ago, we were all very very disappointed!!!

There is only one way to describe our stay at the Stirling Highland Hotel and that is, dreadful. I admit that I had booked room only hence the unavailability of dinner and breakfast, but I thought, wrongly as it turned out, that a decent hotel could at least have managed two breakfasts for two mornings. My mistake, but more disappointment was to follow. The hotel had obviously seen better days and could best be described as shabby going on dilapidated with a palpable air of lack of cleaning. The room smelled fusty and the bed didn't appear to have been well made though as it turned out it was very comfortable. The window had a broken pane of glass which was dangerous, the toilet seat hinge was broken and the wall paper seams were opening up. We cancelled the second night. I certainly would not stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone

Hotel in good location, close to castle and town. Big car park and free .Arrived early to use facilities. No problem. Staff very friendly. Went back later to book in, again quick and easy. Went to room and was shocked to have to step over big pile of dirty linen one side and ice bucket, empty bottles and glasses the other. Every time we walked down corridor there was dirty crockery and empty bottles left outside doors, even left overnight. Very disappointed with room, quite dark, lamps not working, window catch broken so wouldnt close, taps were running. Only way to shut room door was to slam it. Room not particularly clean. Phoned reception and they said they would send someone to have a look. 10 minutes later they phoned to say we could move rooms. We moved to new room ,was better but still not very clean. Dust on all surfaces. Actually found a receipt on floor dated December. Leisure facilities good, but changing room and toilets again dated and not very clean, had to report that 2 loos were blocked.. Evening meal and breakfast both good. All the staff were really friendly and helpful . Enjoyed our time away but hotel didn't live up to its reputation. No question asked when we booked out if everything was ok and had we enjoyed our stay .

Lovely stay with very good food and service. Used this hotel many times and always enjoyed our stay, bathrooms could do with a bit upgrading and deep clean but everything else excellent.

Enjoyable stay. Room 102 which was passable however the bathroom was rather grubby especially around the door both on the inside and on the room side. Badly needs a freshen up. Very disappointing that the hotel does not cater for guests with a disability. This is very poor as they did in the past and must then have made a positive decision to do away with any accessible rooms they previously had.

Fab stay, staff were particularly amazing, helpful and friendly. The only thing that let the hotel down was the bedrooms, very very tired and not 4 star.
