what a lovely hotel and the staff are so friendly and professional. The food was fantastic and the swimming pool was great. The only thing I would say is that it does need a little TLC in places but I would recommend and stay there again.

somewhat disappointed we booked a 2 night bed and breakfast at this hotel wednesday 30november to friday 2nd december and well allocated a double room in the annexe area of the hotel a little distance from the main hotel whilst the room was comfortable it had its problems such as noise from a lane adjacent and from the central heating switching on at 5am in the exterior area the stair carpet was old and badly worn and wall showed signs of dampness , on a positive note the staff were helpful and pleasant especially in the mitre bar and restaurant

Centrally located hotel right in the main shopping area. Free car park for guests is a great bonus for a city centre location (though limited spaces, first come first serve). Rooms very spacious, with seating area with table, complimentary bath robes & slippers - a nice touch. Room & bathroom decor is a bit dated but in keeping with the old building and overall style of the hotel. There is lift, very small, but even so some rooms are on split levels so you may still have to deal with stairs so something to bear in mind if accessibility is an issue. Our rooms had baths but quite deep and not the easiest to step in/out of if you have accessibility issues as my Mum has - unsure if any rooms with shower units rather than baths. Food in restaurant and buffet breakfast was of a high standard. There is a swimming pool but we didn't have the opportunity to use it so can't comment on those facilities. Overall, a good hotel and would certainly have no qualms about booking again

Have enjoyed our stay at this Hotel on numerous occasions and this visit did not disappoint. Many thanks to all staff for a pleasant stay, particularly to lovely receptionist( from Oban) and the duty manager for sorting out our little personal issue. Will see you and Carlisle in the Spring. Stayed in the annexe. Double bedroom very small, toilet had no window or extractor fan and wash hand basin in room as no space in toilet. Very limited on electrical socket points and none by bed. Heating on a timer and had to phone reception to boost heating as room was cold.

we have stayed in this hotel many times but this time a big disappointment.The room was clean, bed was comfortable. Food, breakfast was fine but dinner big disappointment,husband couldn’t eat the steak, so tough, myself I was waiting for the veg and chips to come.alas I was very much mistaken, results we went elsewhere for dinner the following night. I would not book this hotel again.

Lovely stay at the Crown and Mitre Carlisle. Staff very attentive and couldnt fault the delicious dinner and breakfast included in the offer. Cant wait for the next offer so can return. Location is brilliant, so close to all amenities.

pleasant stay, friendly staff, Have stayed at this particular hotel on a number of occasions and have always found the staff welcoming. Breakfast choice good, evening meals in Lounge and Dinning room varied and of a high standard. Location great for shopping and walking and car park a bonus. Leisure facilities basic, but a nice bonus. Will always make this our first choice in the Carlisle area for a leisure break.

This is our fourth stay at the Crown & Mitre. For some reason, on this occasion we were placed in the annex across the car park. Firstly, the lift was not working. The room itself, although clean, was very mush smaller than previous stays and outdated with wallpaper peeling off the walls and burn marks on the bed footer. It was also extremely noisy, both internally (another guest decided to shower very early in the morning and the noise in our room was unbelievable, we could also hear the cleaners in the morning swearing and complaining that the lift wasn't working) and externally (we could hear delivery traffic, people, bins being moved and emptied) so I did not get much sleep at all. As a result, I did not feel able to drive, so this would have been a major concern had I been leaving first thing in the morning. The restaurant and reception staff were polite and helpful, and the food was excellent. The rest of the hotel (reception, restaurant, dining room etc) are all well maintained.

Disappointed the lift was out of order for the four days we were there and on booking in at reception no one made us aware or offered assistance with our luggage to Assendon the four flights of sstairs. The menu for evening dinner was repetitive. The staff in general were okay.

Very enjoyable stay. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was of a very high standard although the evening service could have been a bit quicker, left waiting quite a while after ordering food. One or two teething problems in the room were quickly resolved.

What a fantastic stay!!! The staff are all friendly and helpful - we loved Jordan in the restaurant!!! Room was very comfortable, food was excellent and the breakfasts!! - well where do I start??? Great choice. The deal we got was amazing and we had a fabulous time!!

Comfortable clean rooms...could do with a freshen up...my room was cold at night but I was given a heater...room was right next to gate at the car park entry and it was very noisy early in morning when bins were being emptied...hotel staff were polite and friendly...my son struggled with the menu as he is vegetarian and it was a bit fancy for his tastes but I found everything to be lovely.

Very pleasant hotel, with polite friendly staff. The food was superb, both evening meals and breakfasts. The swimming pool was a comfortable temperature as was the jacuzzi. Our Room was a good sized double, very clean and comfortable.
