We had a fab 1 night stay here for the Enchanted Forest in Pitlochry. A big part of that was the lovely staff who went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay, even upgrading our room for us! Dinner was lovely, and breakfast decent enough. Spa was great too, pool management system works well to control overcrowding. We would stay here again!

We have stayed at the Angus Hotel on several occssions. The hotel is good value for money. Nice restaurant with freshly prepared meals cooked to order. The rooms are fairly standard with everything you need for a short stay. The lift is currently out of order however is sheduled for replacement. The hotel can get busy on occasions particulary as bus parties are frequent visitors.

Lovely hotel and staff at reception and breakfast. Room was great. Breakfast food was ok. Brvice was poor so we went to a pub across the street. Jacuzzi and steam both not working so kind of a wasted trip unfortunately as this was main reason for going. Great little town for a quiet weekend.

This hotel was ok. It had the makings of an incredible hotel, but just didn't live up to expectations. Room 131 - Clean but quite small. The room was on an angle so none of the walls were square to the bed, which was odd. The room had a slight musty smell when we arrived. The bath was damaged, and had chips on the bottom where you would sit. The shower had low pressure and was disappointing. Service - Service was not outstanding. When we arrived we were asked to do the self service check in, however we were watched the whole time and instructed that we were not to fill out areas that it was requesting, after this, it didn't even work and the lady had to check us in manually. Other interactions include poor communications between staff/areas i.e. restaurant, spa and rooms did not liaise between. Service seemed to be "that's not my job, ask someone else" mentality. Food - Food was lovely on the first evening, we didn't wait long and the service was fast and good. Second night we ordered two steaks (no starter), one medium rare and one rare, we waited 50 minutes for them, and when they arrived they were both overdone from request. As a treat for a 30th we ordered a Afternoon Tea, we were extremely disappointed to be given sandwiches which were butter and 2 small slices of cuber. This really wasn't a sandwich, and for the price of the Afternoon Tea, was extremely disappointing. Hotel areas - the spa area was lovely however, the swimming pool walls were a bit run down, could have done with some paint and filler, done areas were green. The steam room wasn't very steamy and the hot tub had a sign saying maintenance was being carried out, this was very confusing and we didn't know it was actually working until the following day. None of the lockers in the men's changing room worked and the female one was very temperamental, my own bag was locked in there and I had to stand in my wet swim suit while someone from reception came to fix it. The bar area / dining room - very nice area, pleasant and welcoming. We enjoyed sitting here. Accessibility - Lift was out of order, and many stairs in hotel. Staff never offered to help with bags, you had to go through many awkward double doors in the hallways making it very hard to get through with bags. Spa - We both had a treatment from Tessa, this was brilliant. Overall, we were disappointed with this hotel. We expected more welcoming and accommodating staff, who knew what was going on in the hotel without instructing us to go talk to others. We were there celebrating a big birthday but no one at the hotel asked us about our stay, it would have been lovely to have a bit of a fuss or complimentary glass to celebrate, that kind gesture, while not expected, would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, in it's current state, we would not recommend or return to this hotel.

When we arrived 1545 the room wasn't ready but it wasn't an issue. We went to the bar. At 1640 we went back to the reception and we were sent to a room, when we got to the room it was a dirty used room. We went back to the reception again. Baring in mind there was no lift we had lots of bags and I have quote bad back problems. The staff were apologetic and sorted a new room immediately, which ended up to be lovely. Bed not great but everything else was good We went to the spa on the 1st evening and the sauna wasn't working. The next day it was on and working but this time the jacuzzi wasn't working. After a while the engineer came and sorted it. I dont think the pool area was cleaned once whilst we stayed but it definitely needed it. The food in the restaurant was lovely. Ate twice and both meals were very good. The afternoon lunch wasn't great. It was a toastie, served burnt turned over to hide it. The onion rings were sent unseasoned but should have been pepper and rosemary. Breakfast was lovely and lots of options. Overall it was great minus the few issues

A mixed bag for sure. The biggest problem is the lack of engagement at reception. They keep their heads down when its manned and dont engage, no greeting and you are left to sleuth out where dinner is served or breakfast or the spa and how to get towels etc. The staff in the bar and restaurant are busy but very friendly. The bar area , corridors and rooms are in need of a refresh. The bad wifi, poor tv signal dropping connection every 5 mins and 24/7 banging of water pipes in the rooms are frustrating but the beds are comfy. The food in the bar, restaurant and breakfast are all home made , fresh and very good quality. Really the hotel just needs good management, a bit of direction and an aesthetic refresh.

Stayed for 3 nights had meal on first 2 nights , grave concerns over allergen control so beware and double check. Room had a horrible smell , were told the only other room available had no shower but on checking online there were other rooms available. Chef refused to boil an egg for breakfast in case other guests wanted one!!!! Stayed a few times before but afraid wont again . See our trip advisor review for more details

Overall hotel was nice and friendly staff. The lift was out of order which wasn't ideal as I had my elderly parents with me ,a lot of stairs for people with ailments to climb to access there rooms. We would visit the hotel again. Food was nice.

we have used this hotel previously and enjoyed it so we have returned on 3 occasions. It is comfortable especially if you upgrade to a king size bed accusation. The leisure facilities are a great bonus on this occasion though the jacuzzi was not working property but it was still an enjoyable experience. The standard of food is excellent only drawback although advertising a full menu some items were not available, The lounge area is comfortable and relaxing. This hotel is in the centre of the town and everything is in walking distance. I would certainly visit this hotel again. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Recently stayed in a family room at the Angus Hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful, the family room was very comfortable and all the meals were tasty and the choice at breakfast was plentiful. The spa and pool had been upgraded since my last stay and was enjoyed by all. The only downside was the lift wasn't working and there were a lot of stairs to manage. Evenso the staff were very helpful and carried luggage to the room. Overall a lovely stay.

The hotel rooms were very dated. Wallpaper peeling, ceiling patched with different sections of wallpaper. Bathroom had been modernised. It was clean and bed was comfortable. It was very noisy, we could hear every footstep from the room above and the sound from the function suite below was so clear I felt like I was at the party. The restaurant and bar were dated. Food was average and they didn’t have all items on the menu available. Breakfast was good. Spa lovely but a few tiles missing.

The hotel was in a lovely setting, car parking can be difficult, the only problem we had was there was a tribute weekend on during our stay, we arrived on Thursday and not told until Saturday, we would not have booked this hotel if we had known, we were unable to have our anniversary dinner in the restaurant which was quite disappointing, also we were directly above the music and it went on til after 12.30 and then had people coming back to their rooms quite noisily. The food was very good, plenty of choice at breakfast we would come back just not when there is music on. There are excellent links by bus to Perth and Dundee.

We were booked in for 3 nights B&B with dinner on the first 2 nights. We booked dinner on our first evening for 6.30pm and still hadn't eaten by 8pm! After asking 3 times when our food would be arriving, we decided to leave. We did have dinner on our third night instead but this is not the first time we had waited a long while before we were fed. At breakfast, we had to ask for cutlery, food items and the fruit bowl to be replenished. There seems to be a lack of staff at meal times. A new self check-in/out system has been installed at reception so the personal touch has been lost when arriving/leaving.

Love this hotel as been before. But this time we left feeling a little disappointed as both nights there was issues with things missing off the menu.. We felt that coach parties were being prioritised before the dining room. Staff in dining room run off there feet. But they still were a credit to hotel. But waiting 45min for main course when asked for all meals to be delivered at same time a pain. Breakfast amazing as always. Lift not working and lots of stairs was hard for all. Maybe time for make over. But your staff from front door back door and housekeeping are all brilliant.

Never managed the break due unforeseen cirstances. The staff at both the hotel (especially Mandy) and Hotel Break could not have been more helpful and understanding to the situation to the extent I was not charged for the booking and therefore not left out of pocket. I look forward to booking through Hotel breaks in the future after experiencing the professionalism and kindness shown by them. Thanks again Dave

We had such high expectations for our visit but unfortunately we were disappointed. The room was hot but reception did give us a fab which helped a little. Toilet and shower room was very small. Food was okay but breakfast could have been better. Spa was nice but could have had its own reception to explain the facilities. The lift broke down and still wasn’t in use 24 hours later. If you have mobility issues this could be a problem. We checked out a day early due to lift not working.

We had a lovely room once we got checked in which was a bit of a nightmare with the self check in. For anyone paying cash you can’t self check in and no signs to say that. Very clean and lots of towels. Food was lovely as were all staff. Unfortunately reception staff said you can’t book meals or afternoon teas with them and we had to wait for bar staff to do this however bar staff said no reception should’ve been able to do this. As a result our evening meal wasn’t going to be till 8pm which was far to late but they did squeeze us in but it didn’t appear to be very busy. Would defo recommend the hotel and would go back again
