The hotel was nice. The guy we got when we arrived was not very helpful, normally when you arrive you are asked to pay what you owe them. All he did was take a card incase we used the bar extra. We didn't get the email to order our meal for the tribute night. We went to use the spa not realising that we both needed a key card, the overnight porter was very helpful and done another 1 for us. When else got back to the room his card wouldn't open the door. I went down to reception and spoke to the same guy who signed our room, he said that he had told me that would happen which he didn't as he asked if we wanted 1 or 2 keys. On the tribute night there was not enough staff for the bar and had also ran out of diet in bru.

We are back from a lovely couple of days at the Angus Hotel. Great location in the centre of town. The spa and swimming facilities were great. It just would have been nice if we could both have got treatments at the same time. Our room was a good size and had everything we needed. Comfy bed and nice shower. Food in the restaurant was really lovely in the evening. Breakfast was ok. Buffet style so you are not waiting to be served. All the staff were really friendly and helpful.

Rooms very small and bathrooms tiny. Welcome package gifts not in rooms But, very clean hotel Breakfast cold and buffet style. Coffee machines not working they ran out of milk. ran out of orange juice, bread, butter and cold milk for cereal. Only 1 person trying her best to resolve all the issues. Not an acceptable service sadly. Given wrong information on evening menu resulting in additional charges, be careful.

5 but this score has no reflection on the staff as the hotel has just recently been taken over and it has changed drastically with a staff shortage and it shows especially at breakfast time were 2 staff were meant to make sure that everything went well, and sadly we had coffee machines breaking down , customers had to repeatedly ask for food trays to be replenished and the final straw was when 1 of them had to go to the local store to buy milk.

Staff were all over the place, no card machines at bar no cash float to begin with, given a chitty to pay at reception. Glass on table at dinner, no milk in morning for cereal or coffee & tea. Eventually got some from supermarket but most guests had left by then. No mention at checkin what time for breakfast, did you need a table for dinner or spa times and no times in rooms either. Room clean and spa lovely.

We did not have a great experience lunch wasn’t cooked properly and we had booked dinner for 8pm main meal was fine but when we asked about dessert we’re informed that chefs had left for the night ,the waiting staff tried to sort something but as this was booked as an overnight for my sisters 60th birthday we were left disappointed

Had a great 2 night stay. Got an refurbrd room which was nice but a few things amiss. Mold growing on the toilet flush button. It was very obvious and it came on when touching it. Could nlobly fill the kettle using a cup as it didn't fit in the sink to fill it. Our room 250 thankfully had aircon. This was December but the room was literally boiling. It's directly above the spa and pool. We has both windows open and the aircon on the whole weekend we were there. We would not of coped without the aircon. All in all a nice stay.

Stayed a few times this year but felt hotel was a bit run down. Check in was a nightmare and took a long time on electronic system which crashed and was advised only way to check in. Was given a normal room initially when I paid for an upgrade which was resolved very quickly. Room was very clean and comfortable however WiFi was awful and couldn’t use it in the room. Water was cold in the shower. The restaurant had ran out of a lot of the food so choice was very limited. Breakfast buffet was cold despite going first thing in the morning. Unsure if will stay again even though have stayed on numerous occasions.

We had a fab 1 night stay here for the Enchanted Forest in Pitlochry. A big part of that was the lovely staff who went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay, even upgrading our room for us! Dinner was lovely, and breakfast decent enough. Spa was great too, pool management system works well to control overcrowding. We would stay here again!

We have stayed at the Angus Hotel on several occssions. The hotel is good value for money. Nice restaurant with freshly prepared meals cooked to order. The rooms are fairly standard with everything you need for a short stay. The lift is currently out of order however is sheduled for replacement. The hotel can get busy on occasions particulary as bus parties are frequent visitors.

Lovely hotel and staff at reception and breakfast. Room was great. Breakfast food was ok. Brvice was poor so we went to a pub across the street. Jacuzzi and steam both not working so kind of a wasted trip unfortunately as this was main reason for going. Great little town for a quiet weekend.

This hotel was ok. It had the makings of an incredible hotel, but just didn't live up to expectations. Room 131 - Clean but quite small. The room was on an angle so none of the walls were square to the bed, which was odd. The room had a slight musty smell when we arrived. The bath was damaged, and had chips on the bottom where you would sit. The shower had low pressure and was disappointing. Service - Service was not outstanding. When we arrived we were asked to do the self service check in, however we were watched the whole time and instructed that we were not to fill out areas that it was requesting, after this, it didn't even work and the lady had to check us in manually. Other interactions include poor communications between staff/areas i.e. restaurant, spa and rooms did not liaise between. Service seemed to be "that's not my job, ask someone else" mentality. Food - Food was lovely on the first evening, we didn't wait long and the service was fast and good. Second night we ordered two steaks (no starter), one medium rare and one rare, we waited 50 minutes for them, and when they arrived they were both overdone from request. As a treat for a 30th we ordered a Afternoon Tea, we were extremely disappointed to be given sandwiches which were butter and 2 small slices of cuber. This really wasn't a sandwich, and for the price of the Afternoon Tea, was extremely disappointing. Hotel areas - the spa area was lovely however, the swimming pool walls were a bit run down, could have done with some paint and filler, done areas were green. The steam room wasn't very steamy and the hot tub had a sign saying maintenance was being carried out, this was very confusing and we didn't know it was actually working until the following day. None of the lockers in the men's changing room worked and the female one was very temperamental, my own bag was locked in there and I had to stand in my wet swim suit while someone from reception came to fix it. The bar area / dining room - very nice area, pleasant and welcoming. We enjoyed sitting here. Accessibility - Lift was out of order, and many stairs in hotel. Staff never offered to help with bags, you had to go through many awkward double doors in the hallways making it very hard to get through with bags. Spa - We both had a treatment from Tessa, this was brilliant. Overall, we were disappointed with this hotel. We expected more welcoming and accommodating staff, who knew what was going on in the hotel without instructing us to go talk to others. We were there celebrating a big birthday but no one at the hotel asked us about our stay, it would have been lovely to have a bit of a fuss or complimentary glass to celebrate, that kind gesture, while not expected, would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, in it's current state, we would not recommend or return to this hotel.

When we arrived 1545 the room wasn't ready but it wasn't an issue. We went to the bar. At 1640 we went back to the reception and we were sent to a room, when we got to the room it was a dirty used room. We went back to the reception again. Baring in mind there was no lift we had lots of bags and I have quote bad back problems. The staff were apologetic and sorted a new room immediately, which ended up to be lovely. Bed not great but everything else was good We went to the spa on the 1st evening and the sauna wasn't working. The next day it was on and working but this time the jacuzzi wasn't working. After a while the engineer came and sorted it. I dont think the pool area was cleaned once whilst we stayed but it definitely needed it. The food in the restaurant was lovely. Ate twice and both meals were very good. The afternoon lunch wasn't great. It was a toastie, served burnt turned over to hide it. The onion rings were sent unseasoned but should have been pepper and rosemary. Breakfast was lovely and lots of options. Overall it was great minus the few issues

A mixed bag for sure. The biggest problem is the lack of engagement at reception. They keep their heads down when its manned and dont engage, no greeting and you are left to sleuth out where dinner is served or breakfast or the spa and how to get towels etc. The staff in the bar and restaurant are busy but very friendly. The bar area , corridors and rooms are in need of a refresh. The bad wifi, poor tv signal dropping connection every 5 mins and 24/7 banging of water pipes in the rooms are frustrating but the beds are comfy. The food in the bar, restaurant and breakfast are all home made , fresh and very good quality. Really the hotel just needs good management, a bit of direction and an aesthetic refresh.

Overall hotel was nice and friendly staff. The lift was out of order which wasn't ideal as I had my elderly parents with me ,a lot of stairs for people with ailments to climb to access there rooms. We would visit the hotel again. Food was nice.

we have used this hotel previously and enjoyed it so we have returned on 3 occasions. It is comfortable especially if you upgrade to a king size bed accusation. The leisure facilities are a great bonus on this occasion though the jacuzzi was not working property but it was still an enjoyable experience. The standard of food is excellent only drawback although advertising a full menu some items were not available, The lounge area is comfortable and relaxing. This hotel is in the centre of the town and everything is in walking distance. I would certainly visit this hotel again. Staff are very helpful and friendly.
