Very disappointed in this hotel. Our room had a damp odour and when we asked to upgrade we were told all rooms were full. The food at dinner was of poor quality and at breakfast there was initially no hot food. When it did become available the bacon was cold and the scrambled egg came from the kitchen in an already used container with old egg residue around the sides. We gave that a miss. Overall, the hotel is dated and we won’t be back.

Great stay, staff very attentive and friendly, food very good and plentiful especially at breakfast. Mattress a bit soft for my liking , but room was clean , well heated with plenty of towels and refreshments.

Had a lovely break at this hotel. Nothing fancy but you expect that. Staff were warm and welcoming and there was a real family atmosphere with other guests. Hotel was warm, lots of , good pressure in shower, nice breakfast and lots of parking. I'd stay again.

This stay was a Christmas gift to my partner. There was ample parking (maybe because it was a cold midweek March day). Check in was extremely efficient, the receptionist was welcoming and friendly and our room was allocated according to my request. We had the free upgrade so our room was towards the front of the hotel overlooking the Loch. The room, to be honest, was a little bit dated but it was spotlessly clean with a comfortable double bed. The bathroom, again was a bit dated but again spotlessly clean. We had dinner from the bar menu - Steak Pie and a Rib Eye Steak with a peppercorn sauce. The prices were reasonable, probably just what you'd normally pay in a hotel/pub and the food was good. We woke to snow the next morning but the room was warm and cosy. Breakfast was delicious with a great choice between continental and cooked, with no scary chefs putting us off! Slight, picky negative - an anti slip mat and a wall handle would make using the over bath shower easier and less dangerous. This was a fabulous hotel for the money - £50 per room Bed and Breakfast. Can't beat it! We will certainly return.

A nice overnight stay as a Xmas present , staf nice and very helpful , had a room with a great view over the loch . Unfortunately the hotel is rather tired and could be doing with some money on it, that is my only criticism

We arrived on Saturday 21st of March around 2.45pm check in was 3pm. Reception staff were very welcoming and reception area was nice. I noticed while waiting to check in the evening meal menu basic for the price we went along to Bens Bothy for a meal and this was excellent. We were given a room on the first floor I was expecting a loch view as the voucher did advise of the upgrade however we were looking out on to the side of a stair way little disappointing however the hotel was busy and we only booked a few weeks prior so I put this down to being later at booking. The room was spacious very dated could be doing with a refresh of paint and the bedside tables were sat away from the wall behind them had not seen a hoover in a while very dirty, . The bathroom was again spacious and clean. In the Evening we came back to the Hotel for the live singer and so glad we did he was fantastic he made this stay for us ! he had a great selection of music all through the years, what I did notice was he had a tips box and we were the only people to put money in to this which was a little disappointing when the place was full and everyone looked to have a great evening thanks to him , I really think people could have been more generous. The morning breakfast was brilliant can not fault this is self service plenty of options from cerials, ins, full scottish breakfast eggs, sausage, blackpudding, haggis the works it was really good. The stay was a nice night away the hotel needs a little work to freshen up rooms as the rooms are very run down decor wise and do not look very clean. We got this on a deal however the couple we met paid £160 for the same night and if I had paid that price I would not have been happy but for what we paid it was fine.

I had emailed the hotel in advance about our stay being for a special occasion. I was told ballon’s and a card would be place in the room on arrival, when we arrived there was only a card which someone had folded over a piece of card and stamped happy anniversary with nothing even written inside of it. Then when unpacking our stuff noticed we were in a room with black mold all over the walls. I went and spoke to reception to which we were placed in a twin rather than a double which I wasn’t happy about. We then went for dinner which to be honest saved the whole weekend the food was lovely and we did enjoy it. Upon checking out we had a £70 bar tab for food and drinks and I felt we shouldn’t be paying it as we deserved some sort of compensation for the room we were put in. It was now a different lady on reception who came across as quite rude when we brought things up as when stating about the balloons and card she said ‘well we don’t charge for them’ I would hope not. The assistant manager was helpful and sorted us out. The hotel is in desperate need of a make over especially in the rooms and unfortunately even though the food was good we won’t be returning. It did ruin our anniversary weekend
