Dunollie Hotel, Broadford, Isle of Skye

My wife and I stayed here using a gift voucher for myhotelbreaks.com. The deal we got included food/drink vouchers for both nights. Checking in was easy and straight forward. The food was alright not the best, not the worst. The room was nice and clean. However! When it came to checking out we were told we had an outstanding bill of nearly £300. When we asked why as we had paid using a voucher we were told for the first time that it had apparently been declined, if this was the case why were we not made aware at checking in? We were asked to provide proof of payment as it was coming out the receptionists pocket if we were lying which is crazy to try and guilt us into paying a bill we had paid because your employer has such a terrible policy for it’s employees. We proved proof of payment via the vouchers and that we had still to pay £18 not the nearly £300. This was fine and then suddenly we were being told we were to pay for our food and drinks so that was another £55 they wanted. We explained that we had a food/drink vouchers for both nights We were told it was one night, we then showed the email confirming what was included so we didn’t have anything to pay as we checked at the bar before ordering anything on our 2nd night just to be sure. I can only imagine the bill we would have been hit with if we had taken advantage of the late check out that was included in our deal. It really put a dampener on our nice break away and was quite stressful.

Amazing hotel with stunning views! Rooms basic but clean and comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities. Had a sea view room and its worth setting the alarm to watch the sunrise! Only ate breakfast but it was lovely and filled us up for climbing sgurr alasdair! Would recommend and would love to stay again! Shops right next door and petrol station cery handy.

Good base for our visit to Skye. Room small but comfortable. View from the room was of a portacabin and wheelie bins and was very near the bar. Staff friendly and welcoming. Dinner on first night was good as we were advised to eat early before a bus party of 41 arrived. We ate out on the 2nd night as there were 2 bus parties in for dinner. Breakfast first morning was buffet style and there was a good choice of hot food. On the 2nd morning the buffet food was lukewarm and eggs dried up as we arrived after the 2 bus parties had eaten. View from dining room was superb. Next door to co-op supermarket and Asda garage

The room was small but clean and comfortable with a fantastic view. The bathroom has been fully refurbished since we last visited, such an improvement. Staff were excellent polite and very helpful

Beautiful views are doing a lot of the heavy lifting as the rooms are tiny, food is mediocre and the hotel is in need of a bit of freshening up. Those views though!

It was our 5th time at the Dunollie but 1st visit since covid, some changes have been made to update some good, some not so good, walls are all freshly painted magnolia rooms very bland no colour or charm, bathroom been updated to shower room which on 1st chance looks great but now mean toilet roll holder is behind toilet you kind of have to bend your arms round to get it whilst on toilet! Shower mat provided but you can't have it on the floor and open the door! Light in bathroom temperamental would trip most times you tried to put it on, no longer have room service or even a phone in room, fire alarm went off one night (lady in room down corridor lite some candles!) No one came to tell us this we had to go ask ourselves! Staff whilst friendly are all foreign which caused some language issues, 1st night we ate in the hotel our waitress sat us at a table then seemed to forget us! 10 minutes later she finally came and took our order, no bottle of water brought to table even though I asked 3 times! My partner ordered fresh orange juice and lemonade this seemed to confuse her! He got a glass of orange juice but we was charged for orange juice and lemonade, we ordered a sharer platter for starter waitress! waitress had no idea what this was, we ordered mains and everything arrived at same time! So had to eat starter and mains all at once, staff seem to disappear so couldn't reorder drinks! The views are what make the dunollie but unfortunately it just seems to have lost the charm it once had, breakfast very hit and miss 1st morning it was horrible, next morning absolutely lovely

Hotel in need of some work but sufficient for what we needed and dog friendly. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Food was adequate not to great standard for evening meal.

Would highly recommend this hotel. The staff were all very pleasant and when we had a wee problem with the shower it was sorted very quickly. Our room was spotless and had perfect views over the bay. Great selection of food at the buffet breakfast and the menu for dinner was lovely. Couldn't fault anything. ?

Was a bit concerned as we booked this hotel and then read the reviews. But I have to say I don't know what the fuss was about. The hotel was absolutely fine. Okay its not a five star but what do you expect for the money. Its been recently decorated and it had new carpets (I think) but it was spotless. The staff were lovely and the evening meals were really nice. (We ate in the Hotel twice). The breakfast could have had more choice but it was nicely booked and plentiful. All I all we have absolutely no complaints and would not hesitate to go back to it.

We had a wonderful time at Dunollie Hotel in Broadford, Isle of Skye. The rooms are well appointed & the bed was really comfortable. The views from the bedroom & dining room are breathtaking. The staff were very friendly & welcoming. Everything was done with a cheery smile. Elena deserves a special mention, was especially nice. She's a credit to the company. Keep up the good work. We recommend a trip to the Isle of Skye.

Good hotel which has been refurbished recently. Room was well appointed with view over Broadford Bay. Quiet day and night while residing there and room was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided. The staff at reception and in the dining room were very pleasant and respectful of our needs. The dining room was very spacious and no doubt will be much busier in high season. The menu provided plenty choices and we were satisfied with the quality of food served. Initially breakfast was served but later it was buffet style with a good choice on offer. Overall the holiday was very good and we would be happy to use it as a holiday base in any future break to Skye. Good value and well worth a visit if holidaymaking in the area.

when I booked this break, I stated that one of our party needed a gluten free breakfast, when we arrived we checked the menu and nothing was marked gf, but after speaking to staff they got it sorted, nothing was too much trouble for them, they went above and beyond to make sure I was catered for.
