An excellent traditional "country house" style hotel. Friendly efficient staff and well appointed comfortable rooms. The food was excellent, reasonably priced, and generously portioned. Well patronized by the locals, which is always a good sign. If you don't mind the second floor (no lift) be sure to book Room 32. A huge room with a view and a huge recently fully refurbished ensuite. Strathclyde Country Park is only 20mins walk, or 5mins in the car. Motherwell Railway Station is only 10mins walk and the train to Glasgow Central is only 17mins Definitely a hotel to return to.

Booked a good deal for two nights b&b, with dinner on first night. Phoned hotel about a week before arrival to ask if another couple could join us for dinner, was assured it would be no problem. The dinner was excellent, all four of us really enjoyed the food, and all of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were good as well. Only minor complaint was the hand-held shower, would have much preferred a full height shower over bath, or a walk-in shower. Did not spoil our stay, really impressed by the staff and the food.

Stayed here a few times and had our wedding reception here. This time the room was in a bad state marks on walls. Cigarette Ash on window sill. Bathroom shower door seal very dirty. Punch on back of bathroom door. Wallpaper hanging off wall. Have pictures to prove all of this. Food and staff great

bed was solid, not comfortable at all. Some staff were lovely others not so much. We stayed here before and it was a place we picked out and paid ourselves and we loved it, the service and room and comfort was fantastic. This time we were charges extra because we wanted a Saturday and were made to feel like we were trying to rip them off with drinks because we asked for it to be changed to the room which wasn't a problem last time. Definitely felt like we were treated differently second time room using my hotel break.

A lovely break in one of the superior rooms. Large and very nice. On a dbb booking. Food was fine with good portion size. Staff were very friendly and helpful. First time here having stayed at the 2 sister hotels before. I'm sure we'll be back.

Stayed here for one night , good location near town centre, had a problem with the room being cold but receptionist dealt with it promptly and without fuss. Meal was nice and good choices , drinks a reasonable price, breakfast was great .

Booked the DBB with bottle of bubbly via My Hotel Break for a fantastic price. Allocated room 12 which was overlooking the car park and main road. Room was very spacious, spotless clean (we done the 4in a bed tests lol) and well equipped with wall mounted TV, plenty coat hangers, tea/coffee and toiletries. Beds (Sealy mattresses) were so comfortable. Dinner was lovely, the menu somewhat scaled back with the deal, but all the same there was no way of going gry. Staff - it is very rare that you go to a hotel and all of the staff are so welcoming and eager to please. Chris, Duty Manager was extremely welcoming as was Sarah-Louise in the bar. We didn’t catch the name of the girl who delivered our bottle of bubbly, and our breakfast to our room, again, very pleasant courteous. Any of the other staff we dealt with all had a smile on their face and offered a hello. I think the Management should be proud of the service the stafer, it certainly made a mark on us. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous and as stated we enjoyed it in our room for a tray charge of £3.50 which in comparison to other hotels is nothing. Hotel is a short walk to the Brandon Parade shopping centre. The only downfall is the main road is busy til the wee small hours, and having a window open meant traffic noises, but that’s not a fault of the hotel. Hotel is also a short walk to Strathclyde park. We honestly couldn’t fault our stay and 100% would return. Thank You!

2nd stay at this lovely hotel. We used it for easy access to Edinburgh to fly to Santorini. As usual staff were lovely, rooms immaculate & complimentary fizz went down a treat! ? Food was delicious and great value for money. We will return!

Had a lovely stay at The Moorings. Room modern, very clean and the bathroom had a large walk in shower. Staff very polite and helpful. Food was good. 3 courses included in the deal portions not over large but excellent quality and service. Bottle of Prosecco in the room was a lovely touch too. We'll definitely use the hotel again.

Found the hotel clean ( except for a few mark on one towel. ) Did report it to the receptionist but unfortunately they did get it changed.. Had to again report it after dinner as reception area was busy. Give the second receptionist their dues the quickly got them changed. Can’t really fault the hotel as Staff were friendly..All in it was a lovely hotel

Hotel was brilliant from start to finish. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel decor is lovely and modern, room was a good size and bed and pillows comfortable. An adequate choice on menu and food very tasty. Preorder for breakfast, again this was very good. Great value for money and I'll be returning. 5* ?

Lovely hotel, the staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough to help especially under the current conditions. We had the DBB deal and the food was lovely we went for the steak and was delicious. We got to sit outside on the decking too which was lovely even though it’s on a main road. The room was lovely a little on the small side but very clean and the bed was really comfy. Only tiny issue we had was the TV had no reception. Plenty of car parking spaces which was a bonus. We will definitely be back.

What a lovely hotel, staff were amazing from the minute we got there till we left the next day, bring us extra towels right away. For was lovely also we had a light lunch on the day we arrived dinner that evening and breakfast the next day, restaurant staff where very helpful and attentive, we where in the new part of the hotel which was lovely out room was freshly decorated a very clean. We will definitely be back for another stay soon
