Excellent hotel if somewhat over quiet in lounge areas. Affordable lounge menu. Expensive three course dinner £60 each. Drink prices mixed to expensive. Lovely bedroom. Very efficient staff. Beautiful grounds.

Superb hotel located right by Muirfield golf course for those that like their golf and its history. Excellent room was up-graded on arrival and wonderful breakfast

Very expensive, however I would expect this for 5 star place on a very exclusive golf Course. Bed and pillows were very comfortable . Garden area was fabulous

We spent 3 nights at this delightful country house hotel which looks over Muirfield Golf Course and the Firth of Forth towards Fife at the back, and over the hotel gardens to the front.jn Our room was on the first floor and had views over the water. It was very comfortable with a good size bathroom with bath and shower. There was a good informal atmosphere and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Dinner each night was excellent and there was a good selection from both the set menu and the a la carte menu. A pianist entertained guests in the library during the evening, which was very enjoyable. Breakfast was also very good. The walled garden was very nice and well stocked with a good selection of flowers and foliage. A good place to wander around or to sit and enjoy the dry weather. We would certainly recommend it and would return.

Room 1 overlooking was a good size, comfortable and overlooking the 10th tee... it was once occupied by the King and Queen of Jordan. Food fine and fairly priced but nothing special. Breakfast was good. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Reception rooms are extensive and relaxed; the gardens are definitely worth a walk around.

Sudden decision to go here ...from the second we arrived at the hotel doors till the time we left...enjoyed every single second. As our car drew up, staff waited to open the car door, carry the luggage and take me on a tour. This turned out be the most relaxing weekend we have had, service second to none, surroundings peaceful and undemanding, and special thanks to Ryan and Amanda---we felt welcomed and special. The food was quite quite amazing so thank you to all the chefs ..no one single dish deserves more applaud..the dishes from the lunchtime sandwiches to breakfast did not fail to deliver more than we could have expected The atmosphere was almost magical..the intimacy of small hotel embraced and hugged us. Will most definitely be back and look forward to it. Service level has to be plus 7 stars

We had a really nice few days here while work was being done on our flat. The staff at Greywalls were so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the bar meals and lunches very much, as well as our delicious meal in the Chez Roux restaurant. We loved exploring the excellent wine list too! The bed was so comfortable and there was an evening turn-down service. Yes, it's a pretty classy place - the chips are Pommes Pont-Neuf, LOL, and there's no (presumably horrifically vulgar) tea tray and kettle in the room, although you can ask for one - but it's so posh it kind of goes through pretentiousness and comes out the other side into relaxed and laid-back friendliness. They even made me a bacon sandwich for breakfast; I hope Albert Roux wasn't spinning in his grave at the sight of that. There is some golfs available for people who like golfs. Can't wait to go back at some point when we've finally paid off the previous bill :)
