The Hotel was a bit tired in places but rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were not very knowledgeable about what was happening over the New Year Break but they were super helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. Hogmanay Party was different but very enjoyable. Food was absolutely delicious with generous portions.

A fantastic stay with our family. The food was excellent as were the staff. Lovely big room and newly upgraded bathroom. Situated in a quiet little billage, but within easy reach of Fort William. Only downside was the disco at New Year; never really catered for the age group.

Very impersonal, it is self serve check-in and check-out. The rooms are large but slightly dated with flowery curtains and patterned carpets and no full length mirror. Floors and walls seems thin as you can hear those above walking about etc. Poor pressure in the shower, chips in bath and sink.

Enjoyable stay. Reception and restaurant staff were very friendly and adhered to the Covid 19 rules. Room was spacious with all the amenities you needed. The food in restaurant was well presented and the staff very efficient. Would not have any hesitation in staying at Moorings Hotel again.

Very friendly staff. We were in room 22. Noisy from both sides, one of which had a dog who liked to bark. Food was nothing special. Well equipped room. Dog hairs in and on the bed was a BIG NO NO.

Nice hotel, the room was clean and tidy. Location is great, away from the noise of the city. The staff were friendly. We had a meal in the hotel diner and it was great, compliments to the chef.

An ‘old style’ hotel which isn’t quite as modern as the online photos suggest. The staff were all very friendly and the room and bed were comfortable, but we felt that overall the hotel, and especially the food, were a little overpriced.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Room was lovely with all the toiletries etc you would ever need. Gorgeous and warm and very clean. Friendly helpful staff and all the food we ate in the bistro was superb. I slept amazingly the first night but if you are a light sleeper you may need earplugs as boats go through Neptune’s staircase at all times of the day and night. Wouldn’t hesitate to return. Hotel was fully booked throughout our stay

Enjoyed our stay but disappointed with the evening dining. Having a rosette for food we were expecting something more than fish and chips, burgers etc. The food was perfectly good but a huge disappointment and what a waste not to use the lovely dining room where we had breakfast in the evening as an alternative to the cafeteria like bistro

We stayed at the Moorings as a birthday getaway for myself. I chose the hotel as the reviews looked good and its location. It is adjacent to Neptunes Staircase and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Our room was 21 and I must say it was spot on, the views of the canal, staircase and Ben Nevis and the hills was stunning, sensational in fact. We were walked through the labyrinth of stairs and corridors by Angus, whom was very welcoming. He was typical of the staff, they were all very pleasant and polite, the service was not a problem. The room itself was well appointed and proportioned. It was spotless too. Plenty of storage, a large shower room and toilet; the shower, my wife complained was not too warm for a 5a.m. Shower, it was jolly roasting when I’d mine later..... the shower gels etc were bountiful and a touch of quality. Tea and coffee were provided and a large tv too. Complimentery biscuits, water etc. Another touch of class was the slippers and dressing gowns. The food..... we tried the salmon starter, spot on, haggis bon bons, also very tasty. y crab cakes were also real nice. The mains we tried were the risotto, rich creamy and very nice, grilled chicken with peppercorn sauce and the usual ts, I thought this was nice too. The second night I tried the lamb, great tasting dish, agian with plenty of accompaniments, including a boat of fabulous gravy. The meat itself, tender and delish. Now I thought that was tops, however the steak pie was a triumph, juicy, tender, fabulous. No rooms for any pudes at all, stuffed as we were. This is a very nice hotel, the public rooms are all decorated to a high standard, a quality four stars. Would I return, yes in a heartbeat, would it be as special, who knows when there is a full hotel if it would, however it would not be for the lack of trying. Then again if I had room 21, I would jst sit and wonder at the views......

Generally a well run hotel in a great setting. Stayed in a Superior room, which was excellent. The quality of the food in the restaurant/dining room was very good, although the quality of breakfast fell short of what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. It was a little concerning that staff appear not to know what is included in the fixed price dinner menu, in particular that coffee is included in the cover price. On one night coffee was not offered at all and on another night the cost of a coffee was wrongly added to my bill. However, when the latter was brought to the attention of staff, it was addressed.

A high quality hotel. Upgraded to one of the new bedrooms with views over the Caledonian Canal and towards Ben Nevis. The bedroom was excellent. Dined in Neptune's Restaurant and although it was very quiet, the dining experience was very good. The quality of food and service was of a very high standard. Staff in the hotel were friendly and professional. I would recommend this hotel as an excellent base in the West Highlands of Scotland

Beautiful room with balcony overlooking the Caledonian Canal and view of Ben Nevis. Could not fault anything. A little disappointed that evening menu did not reflect the specimen on the website but food and breakfast still very good.

Very good hotel which I am happy to recommend. Upgraded to executive room with views over Neptune's Staircase on the Caledonian Canal and towards Ben Nevis. The restaurant/dining room was quiet on both nights of my stay, but the food and service were of a high standard. Only criticism is that the choices on the menu were quite limited, with the menu being the same for both nights. Daily changes to the menu would enhance the dining experience.
