Staff and hotel lovely. Food was amazing. Rooms and hotel spotless. Couple of negatives - no bar prices and Bill not detailed so no idea what we were charged for. Restaurant has a lot of additional costs and supplements so if you have booked dinner beware of the surcharges. Saying that food was amazing. Owner was a bit pushy trying to add extra veg, bottled water etc

We stayed here for a memorial event for a friend. The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The stand out for us was the quality of food in the restaurant. The chef produces 5 star food with great attention to detail. Everything is cooked from scratch with locally sourced produce - truly excellent. There is a whisky bar with over 1000 malts to sample from. The area is interesting and great walking country.

Glenesk is a lovely hotel. The evening meal was so good; lovely meat and vegetarian options. The staff were unfailingly friendly helpful and courteous. The leisure facilities were very nice.

Lovely clean hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. The only fault was the breakfast buffet was not up to the standard I would have expected from this hotel. The cooked breakfast and French toast was however excellent!

Spent 3 nights here in this lovely hotel. Staff were very friendly, at both the reception and dining room. Food was great and portions satisfied my husband (I could only manage 2 courses after the first night) and was well presented. Varied menu too and a good selection of wine catering for all tastes and purses. In the bar there was over 1,200 whiskys to choose from. Swimming pool was good and gardens very attractive looking onto the adjacent golf course. Our room was clean and comfortable if a bit dated. We recommend this hotel and would love to have another break here in the future.

We needed a week away and we were told about Glenesk. Our room was being finished as we arrived. It had just been converted to a suite from two or three rooms. Really comfortable and spacious with a luxurious bathroom. We had a lovely view over the golf course and a six foot wide bed. The food was good with huge portions and the variety of drinks excellent. We both felt that the breakfast buffet could do with some improvement with regard to the choices and types of cereals and fruit. These are little things but would make a huge difference. The cooked breakfasts were fine with the exception of the (microwaved?) scrambled eggs. The swimming pool and the gym were really pleasant and proved to us both how unfit we are. All the staff were really polite and helpful. Lovely people, if we’re permitted to say that!
