What another fantastic stay at the best dog friendly hotel in Blackpool. The staff again were wonderful with our 2 springer spaniels. The hotel give them a free rein in the bar, lounge and restaurant Which makes our stay so much more comfortable. The hotel was again spotless and we can't say thank you enough and cannot wait to return.

The room was clean, comfortable and spacious enough for my 4-night stay. Breakfast was good and sufficient. Staff were friendly.

I was so looking forward to my break at the carlton Hotel big mistake will not be back at this hotel or recommend it to anyone paid £ 300 for 2 nights in a superior sea view room well if this was superior wouid not have liked to see what a standard room looked like so disappointed and upset.

All the staff were excellent. The food was first class. We paid £200 extra for a superior room with a sea view. This left a lot to be desired. Yes we had a sea view but that was about it. The carpet was dirty. The easy chairs were dirty as if something had been spilt on them. They needed a good clean. There were no drawers just open bedside cabinets. the hanging space was meagre. The ad said bottled water in the room. We had one bottle for the duration of our stay. There were two bath robes(not used) prefer our own. On the last night of our stay we had water coming from the ceiling. We were offered another room but didn't accept as we were leaving in the morning. Big mistake! It dripped all night! The toilet could do with an overhaul as well. If this is all Best Western can offer then we won't be booking with them again.

Allocated room smelled very badly of smoke, room should have been adequately ventilated prior to reallocation. Evening dinner was poor especially the Gannon steak recommend by the waiter who took out order. The handle for the cistern had to be pumped often before it would flush and then with the very poor noisy water flow took around ten minutes to refill. Half the room ceiling was at low level a bit of a hazard in the dark.

We only stayed at The Carlton for one night. The deal, through myhotel.com was dinner, bed, breakfast with afternoon tea.. The reservation was only made the day before staying. After confirmation the hotel was immediately in touch to ask about allergies etc. Excellent. On arrival and throughout our stay, the staff were simply superb. Faultless. Well done. Food was very good with a great evening meal selection. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we had a great stay. Well done to all.

On arrival we were greeted with friendly staff . We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Nothing was to much trouble. Would definitely recommend this hotel and have booked again to return soon. CB the receptionist was a credit to the hotel as was all the staff.

Good hotel, stayed in room 304 small but comfortable and clean. We extended our break to 2 nights including dbb and afternoon tea. Reception area is open and welcoming, with colourful seating arrangements. I did like which appeared to be some original features in the doors and cornicing etc which was nice to see. The afternoon tea was set up for us quickly on the first day which was lovely, with a vintage feel. Dinner was burgers which where a good standard and nicely presented. Breakfast was buffet style, food items on offer where not of good quality for us, however there was a self serve coffee machine although a little slow you can have the coffee you prefare (latte for me) The toaster is a bit of a wait also, however the bread selection was nice along with condiments. The hotel had outside seating which was nice as the weather was good during our stay. I would say that the drinks where rather expensive (2 pints of shandy £14ish) We chose this hotel as it was out with busy central and the tram stop is directly outside which was good as we used the tram during our stay. We would stay again, if on offer.

Clean and pleasant hotel in good location. Close enough to walk to town centre but far enough away to escape the biz if that’s your preference. Sadly, the staff on in the evening were on the back foot due to sickness absence but remained pleasant and helpful and come breakfast the next morning there were more staff around and they managed to find the elusive tomato juice which seems to throw other establishments right off kilter. Breakfast was a decent selection of self-service buffet. Evening meal on Saturday was just alright: perfectly edible and amp,e in portion, just lacked a bit of presentational imagination. The chicken in the Caesar salad was superbly tender with a nice crisp skin which may have been a bit unusual but a nice change from cks through the salad.

After reading some recent pretty grim Trip Adviser reviews on this hotel I was pleasantly surprised. My room, albeit right at the back of the hotel, was clean, warm, spacious, airy and comfortable along with lashings of in the bathroom. Staff on the whole were friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was tasty, freshly made and hot, although service was a little slow, but hey, it isn’t a race. Location is excellent with a ten minute walk to the tower and town centre. Dogs! (and before any dog owners/lovers start taking pot shots) I was fully aware of the hotel policy on them. But why, such a policy must turn away more guests than it attracts. Who wants to stop in a room where the previous occupants hound has no doubt been on the furniture, bed and probably wiped its bottom on the carpet. Public rooms and the restaurant. ??!

The Carlton is a down to earth, few frills hotel but none the worse for that. We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay, the staff were great and the food, again not over-fancy was very good. Room was not expansive but this seems to be the norm for Blackpool. Availability of parking was a plus and the location handy.

Location was fantastic, a tram stop and taxis right outside the hotel, the breakfast was very plentiful and hot. Beds are very comfortable, and it’s nice and quite away from the hustle and bustle but The north pier is only 2 min down the road to lively bars and the tower if you want the night life . I would definitely recommend this hotel
