Had an excellent stay and would definitely stay again. Waitress for dinner was lovely. We didn’t use it this time but thought the atrium was a lovely touch and dog towels. The new areas being worked on will be an added bonus too.

It’s so peaceful at the Waterside and very comfortable. The staff are all very accommodating and friendly. The food is great with plenty of choice at both breakfast and dinner. It is a very good hotel for anyone with mobility issues as there is a lift and rooms with walk in showers. We will return.

Was a great experience. Room amazing and bed so large and comfy. The meals were good and a few options available. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Great view from our room. A lovely walk along tge shore. Will book again soon.

We arrived early and have to say the staff were extremely helpful. It was a very busy lunch service on a Sunday but we were still welcomed warmly. Reception staff were just as good. As soon as we arrived I checked to see if the room was ready. It wasn’t but a few mins later they came and found us to say it was. The room was just perfect for us. Only down side to the room for us was a small sofa would have been better than 2 dining chair to watch the view. Food at the hotel. Amazing!!! Yes we had 1 issue but that was sorted without a problem very good. Breakfast. The first morning I was disappointed that it was buffet service but was still very good second morning table service.. all the food was good quality and well presented. The staff were very good through our stay and I will go back. We booked a ferry to go to Arron but alas the weather had other plans.

The hotel and service was first class. Absolutely stunning in terms of the room and view from the sea view patio. I don’t think I had slept that well for a long time and that was due to the comfort of the bed. Having access to gailes hotel spa was awesome. The evening meal / dinner was top class. I had the braised beef and for dessert had a trio of ice creams. The service was first class and the wait not too long. My only downside was the breakfast. We had booked for 09:45. We were then sat at a table for non residents. The manager then approached and asked if we were residents and then moved us to the buffet area. My main compliant is that a lot of the food which was supposed to be hot breakfast was cold so overall a little disappointing. All in all it was a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend to anyone. Regards Jim and Lyndsay

Just back from fabulous 2 night stay with friends. Firstly all the staff were extremely welcoming and professional with a special mention to Katlyn our waitress in the Restaurant first class service and attention to detail a credit to the hotel. Your new rooms are lovely and will be back when weather is better although it did not stop us from enjoyment . Your new spa will add extra facilities to enjoy . Food, service, rooms all enjoyed by all of us

We enjoyed a lovely Dinner overnight, and BB in November 2025. The food at dinner and breakfast was delicious and the staff could not have been more friendly and attentive. Every member of staff we came across made us feel welcome. We took our dog along to one of the dog friendly rooms which are beautiful and clean and our dog had a lovely time and enjoyed running on the beach which is right out the back of the building. The dog was also allowed to sit with us in the pub section of the hotel were we could also enjoy our meals and breakfast. which allows the hotel to keep the restaurant/ lounge area dog free. Also special mention to night porter Graeme who was so friendly and kind and went above and beyond, a wonderful member of staff you are blessed to have. We will definitely be returning.

Had a lovely stay at hotel, staff very friendly room excellent & warm had side view but windows obscured a little which was a great idea. Food good service good. Beach on doorstep. Work being done to add spa. Look forward to returning.

This hotel gets a 10/10 We upgraded to a superior sea view room with fantastic views over the Firth of Clyde. The staff will go the extra mile for you and always will a smile. The food from the restaurant is really top quality. I will look out for any deals for this hotel and will definitely be back. Keep up the good work my hotel break as this hotel can’t be faulted

The Waterside is a lovely place to stay. The room was cosy and very comfortable, the dining was delicious, and all the staff were super friendly. We were unlucky with the weather so couldn’t explore the coastline but will hopefully stay again sometime soon.

The room was absolutely lovely, the staff are kind courteous, there was a wedding on the night we stayed there was no noise slept well, the only complaint is that asked the waitress for ketchup at dinner and am afraid am still waiting, you can't have everything!

Hotel is lovely. Beautiful location with views over water. Rooms are spacious with table and chairs to sit looking out over water. Food was lovely. Great deal, DBB and bottle of wine for £150 per couple. Fantastic value.
