Had a lovely 2 nights B & B stay in a lovely comfortable room, dinner & a bottle of wine was also included in the price . A great deal. Very helpful, pleasant staff in the all areas of the hotel. The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of Inverness, which is a beautiful city.

Stayed at the Mercure Inverness this past weekend, 2 night deal, B&B and dinner 1st night, bottle wine on arrival, £149 for my wife and I, read some bad reviews before going so wasn't really expecting much, we were pleasantly surprised, all staff very pleasant, room was decent, nice comfy huge bed, breakfast also good, great location, would definitely return

Fantastic stay at this hotel. From outside it doesn’t look up to much but once you step inside you can see it has been done up to a fairly high standard. Breakfast was lovely plenty choice however I do think the fruit juices need a bit consideration not everyone likes orange with bits in it. We had a meal on the first night and it was amazing! Service was really good.

Great location. Nice reception/bar area. Lovely food. Rooms were basic but very clean. There is very little space in the bathroom to put toiletries. Service was excellent, George in particular was friendly and attentive. Our room was facing away from the river and there was a lot of noise from drunk and disorderly folk at night - and this was mid week - so if you are staying for a weekend ask for a room overlooking the river.

Staff are extremely kind & polite, food was good, we had quite a large room only spoiled due to the fact there was only one chair! two could have easily fitted in that room (508), beds were very firm, much firmer than we are used to, other than the two things listed, highly recommended & so central.

Lovely stay can’t fault the service. River room great can’t comment on the city views had to upgrade for this. Food good and will return off season when the hotel doesn’t charge ridiculous room rates as most in Inverness do during the season!

I booked 2 rooms on arrival I was told that their was no second room booked and that the hotel being fully booked there would be a problem finding a room. The receptionist was clearly under pressure as her attitude towards this was very straight to the point. On showing the booking confirmation she assured their would be a room when we came back at 3. On return there was a room but not the room that was requested however we were happy to accept and the receptionist was very helpful after that. On arrival to the room that was booked and there wasn't an issue with on arrival it turned out to be a dingey back room which had no handles on the windows the corridor smelt of chips from the kitchen and all in all it was very dated. The walls were paper thin and could hear everything from the rooms around us. After our night in Inverness the couple we were traveling with and us went to their room to eat some food and within 5 minutes an evening porter was up telling us to leave their room which we did however that same porter was back at their room a further 2 times accusing them if playing loud music and having a party. The couple had gone for a shower after we left and then went to bed however the rook next door had very loud music which was pointed out and nothing was done. All in all I don't think we will return to the Mercure in Inverness. We weren't made to feel welcome, the rooms were not of a standard I'd have expected after staying here previously and I will be writing to the hotel directly to complain. The breakfast and dinner was lovely and I understand Covid guidelines need to be followed however these guidelines were not handed out to us or explained on arrival which could have been because of the issue with the rooms but it did put a damper on our stay.

Hotel was very central. Staff very nice. Rooms a bit small. In the shower they would benefit to have a small shelve in shower to put u things in.

The hotel was well located but parking was a public car park and very limited spaces . We had booked the two night B&B dinner on the first night . I telephoned on the Tuesday before our stay to book our meals as suggested by your email . the reception explaineeed it was not necessary as bookings would be taken when we arrived . We arrived and were told that there was no tables left ! We had travelled over 100 miles straight from work and had to start looking for somewhere to have a meal . I raised this with the staff but they said they had had people booking in since this morning and they would accommodate our meal on the second evening .( for which we already had a restaurant booked ) Our plans had to be all changed at the last minute . The bedrooms were not cleaned to the high standard they published . We had the previous guests pajama trousers and used towel hanging behind the bathroom door and I had to ask twice for it to be removed . Our friend room also had a lot of dust on the furniture . The staff in the bar and restaurants were helpful and mannerly . Our room overlooked the main street and was very noisy due to people coming in and out of the public house opposite the hotel .

Rooms had label on door showing it had been thoroughly cleaned and no one had entered since it had been done, hotel also had plenty of sanitizing stations through out the building. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. It was in a great position for visiting the city centre etc.

More miss than hit with this hotel. Tired exterior, which is not being maintained. Clean room, upgraded toilet but it’s incredibly small, there is no bath just a shower. You can hear everything in the room the air vents which don’t close bring the outside in permanently, it’s just like you hav an open window onto the street below where the bars are, so if your looking for a good nights sleep, forget it. You can also hear the conversations in adjacent rooms, not just the sound of talking, but the actual conversation, I felt like I could have joined in, there is no sound insulation in the walls or ceilings at all. We got a knock at the door and told to turn our tv down at 9.30 and it was at volume 6 out of 100. Made us feel like most unwelcome. The WiFi was rubbish, we couldn’t connect for any length of time before cutting out. I couldn’t even stream a low quality Netflix tv show. The allowance for food (£22) which seemed adequate only covers a very basic starter and a main, approximately 80% of the menu choices would have required you to pay extra (I assume this is the reason for the unusually high prices) and it was probably the worst meal I’ve had. The duck parfait at £7.25 was not parfait, it was cheap liver pate and was foul. And the Caesar’s salad was, for £13.00 a joke. I could have gone around the corner to M&S food and picked up a better and bigger one for £3.50. This is a complete rip off. They do give you a bottle of complimentary wine which, while on the budget side went well with the olives we ordered. Funnily, and to our surprise the breakfast was good, particularly the serving staff who were on the ball, attentive, and couldn’t do enough for you. There are hand sanitisers dotted around but the automatic one at the front door never had sanitiser in it. This is not a 4 star hotel. You even have to pay for the privilege of parking in their car park. My wife and I were at a 3 star Hilton only a few weeks before and the quality of service, room WiFi, Sound proofing Was streets ahead of this place. Everything was better. I’ve no idea who rated this place but it’s Not 4 star, and there are much better hotels with 3 star ratings. Would not recommend. Not even at the bargain price we got it for.the next time we go away we will be sticking to the hotels where we get a good nights sleep in a sound proofed room with decent WiFi with decent breakfast. These no frills, no fuss cheaper 3 star hotel chains who know what customers want and provide much better value for money.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Mercury. All staff were excellent. Very friendly and informative. COVID controls were in place and easy to follow. Room was very spacious, clean and well laid out. Only noise we heard was when pubs rolled out and we could hear muted voices but this didn’t interfere with a good nights sleep. Breakfast was delicious and the waitress was fantastic (wish I had gotten her name) she was very friendly, attentive and provided 1st class service. Hotel in perfect location for city centre. And frontage onto river was lovely. I will definitely use this hotel again.

We enjoyed our stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful. They've adapted very well to the necessary procedures that are currently in place. The room was small, as was the bathroom, but functional. It was fine for a couple nights, but possibly not suitable if you are staying for longer. We did enjoy our stay there, as it was very central.
