The Vicarage, Holmes Chapel

A cozy Listed Building Country Hotel, but only ten minutes walk from the charming small town of Holmes Chapel, and five minutes drive from the M6. The wood beamed Lounge Bar, Restaurant, and Conservatory are in the charming old building, and the bedrooms are in the attached more conventional hotel block. The lounge bar and meals are excellent, and popular with the locals, which is always a good sign. All meals including breakfast are cooked to order. Comfortable Bedrooms are conventional L-shaped ensuite layout. Good raincan walk in shower. WE would definately come here again.

Wouldn’t stay again, check in was a bit odd, had to pay £25 to check my credit card before i could pay for our stay, I was told this would be refunded the following day, which it was but it was just an unnecessary inconvenience, there was a £5 charge if you didn’t hand in the plastic key card on checkout, never had that before. Would have preferred biscuits in the room to have with coffee instead of 2 bags of crisps. The evening meal desserts were odd, lemon meringue pie was peanut butter in a bowl topped with a sort of lemon meringue, the ice cream sundae was equally odd. The breakfast buffet was cleared away a long time before the time given for breakfasts, we & others were still eating. After receiving my credit card statement I noticed a charge of £2.50, on querying this with the hotel I was told it was a mistake & would be refunded but as yet it hasn’t been. Not a great experience.

Good place for calm holidays in a luxury hotel, when you can spend time Reading is a comfortable leather armchair. Food is excellent staff are everytime trying you have a good experience. I think the rooms need airconditioning because if not your sleep time could be no so good experience.

Lovely quirky hotel/pub. Great bar and restaurant very relaxed. Food and drink lovely. Good location for the happy place festival at tatton park. Very near Cheshire oaks for retail therapy!

The hotel is comfortable, staff are very helpful, rooms spotless and breakfasts wonderful. Good car parking and lovely surroundings!
