As always our stay at Carnoustie was perfect. The staff are lovely. Hotel has recently been remodelled along with spa. Rooms are very comfortable. Food is delicious. Bar well stocked. We’ll be back soon.

We upgraded our room to junior suite and it was very comfortable. We had dinner both nights and the food was delicious. Staff were friendly and polite. The leisure suite was lovely. A very nice weekend.

Rooms clean although a bit dated. Some refurbishment has been completed downstairs in the hotel. Not sure if this will extend to the bedrooms. Staff in dining room young and inexperienced. Very slow and some of them not really interested. When we questioned the slow service we were told they were really busy. imum number of diners being served while we were there was 17. Capacity of dining room can easily seat 5 times that amount or more, so not sure if there just wasn’t enough staff to cope. Also heard that over the last year or so a large amount of staff has left. Current staff need training on catering and customer service.

Lovely hotel, swimming pool and helpful reception staff. Room was clean and spacious as we had upgraded to a golf course view. What let this hotel down, big time, was the restaurant/kitchen. We booked in for dinner on the Sunday night. After 50 minutes from ordering, we were advised that our order hadn't reached the kitchen...and was being 'rushed through'. This was evident upon arrival of the food. Battered haddock was extremely greasy and Lamb Rump, difficult to cut and chewy - no-one came and asked if our meal was 'okay', even after the huge delay. Our breakfast chosen the following morning was Eggs Benedict. The in had I assume been cooked and reheated, it was like cardboard and could hardly be cut, let alone chewed. The eggs weren't fully cooked, with the whites still runny, the tiniest piece of thin ham with everything entirely encompassed by the sauce, hardly any of the plate actually visible for it. Both my husband and myself ate very little of it and were very disappointed. The gentleman at the adjoining table, asked the waitress to take his away as it was inedible. A beautifu hotel, let down by the food.

A lovely hotel with fantastic friendly service, pool and spa area was also lovely, had dinner in the restaurant and the monk fish was delicious, other dishes were also good. The room was the only disappointment, went for a suite and the decor was very dated, still very clean with a nice view of the course, but could do with updating like the rest of the hotel.

The room was very good looking onto the golf course, most of the staff were really nice one of the bar staff was quite rude, most of the food was good but the haddock and chips wasn't I've had better from a chip shop, it seemed like it was Americanided if that's a word service charges and a lot of loud Americans.

We had a lovely stay here for our anniversary and had a lovely surprise of a plate of mini macarons, chocolate strawberries and mini cakes in our room. All staff were lovely and friendly. Room was bright and airy and nice large bathroom. Spa was great, we used the steam room and jacuzzi, pool was a great temperature....not cold!

Very nice hotel in a great spot. Large car park at front of hotel which , unlike a lot of others is still free. All the staff were great - friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and had a great bed. Bathroom was good with plenty of shelf space for all bits and pieces. Great shower and nice soap/shampoo etc. We ate twice in the dining room - good selection of food which was very tasty and well presented. Wine list was ok too. The bar area was really nice. Service here was quick and friendly. Didn’t use pool or spa facilities. Have been here before and would certainly recommend to others and we will go again.

Very warm and friendly welcome when we arrived. Straightforward check in and check out process. All staff were friendly and attentive. We used the leisure facilities after my wife had been to the Spa. As we were leaving the Spa receptionist used my wife’s name to ask if she had enjoyed it - a very nice personal touch. Food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.

Have stayed a few times now at Carnoustie but not for a couple of years. All the main areas of the hotel have been refurbished along with the leisure facilities. Leisure facilities were excellent, used the pool, sauna, steam & jacuzzi. Changing rooms spotless, pool loungers all new. Food & service was also excellent. Breakfast covers a big selection of continental and a wide range of hot food, cooked to order. We had evening meal both nights, wide choice & daily specials.Staff are friendly & attentive without being intrusive. We paid for the deluxe upgrade and had a lovely large room with a big balcony and fantastic view of the golf course. Excellent value break & will most definitely return.

We had a voucher for a one night stay with breakfast and £50 towards a meal. We upgraded to room with golf view, which was perfect. Our meal in the restaurant was lovely, food delicious and service very good. Breakfast next morning had a lovely variety of fresh fruits, cold meats and cheeses with a good selection of hot dishes to order. All staff were friendly and most helpful. A lovely overnight break.
