A VERY DISAPPOINTING BREAK ! After booking through myhotelbreaks I was ininidated with emails to upgrade my package from the hotell so I decided to phone the hotel for more details and what a mistake that was! Started phoning on Wednesday 29th October ' phoned 4/5 times that day and no reply. Phoned again on the Thursday 4/5 times and same no reply left messages but no return call. Phoned again on the Friday 4/5 times no reply again and couldn't leave a message this time as said message box full! Tried emailing the same day and email "bounced " back stating mail box full. Decided no more phone calls and when we arrived on Sunday 2nd November. NEXT DISAPPOINED WHEN WE ARRIVED WE WERE TOLD LEISURE FACILITIES CLOSED DUE TO BOILER FAULT AND REMAINED CLOSED UNTIL WE LEFT ON WEDNESDAY 5TH NOV. (THIS WAS THE REASON WE BOOKED THIS HOTEL FOR THE LEISURE FACILITIES)!!! WE ASKED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER BUT NO MANAGER AVAIBLE AND TOLD THAT A MANAGER WOULD PHONE BUT STILL NO PHONE CALL AS AT FRIDAY 7TH NOVEMBER !! THIS HOTEL DEFINITELY GOT STAFF/MANAGEMENT ISSUES AND WILL NOT BE BACK AND WOULD NOT RECOMEND IT !!!

We had a lovely spacious room and had everything we needed. The staff were really kind and helpful. Only thing that let them down was the breakfast.

DBB deal. Room ok but needs redecorated. Bed comfy. Usual basics available. Dinner was again rather basic. A shared cheese and meat board was a all triangle of crumbly brie, which was a first for me, two meats, two breads ticks, two pieces of toasted bread and an apple chutney with extra stalks in it for added surprise. Main was a cheese burger with chips and fish and chips with minted peas which was a surprise but my wife dislikes mint. Breakfast at 0850 was not good. Fried eggs that had actually become plasticated, no mushroom or beans available but arrived ten minutes later, scrambled egg with dark spots in it with was particularly off-putting. Sausage and bacon saved the day. One pastry available and the coffee machine overfilled the cups. Overall spent £225 but it won't happen again.

We have stayed there many times it has changed a little a little bit tried breakfast not as good as it used to be I use to highly recommend it but not so much now plus could not believe they charged me £25 a night xtra for my small cavapoo dog they said it was for cleaning but the room would be cleaned anyway and any damage my dog did I’m sure I would be first to mention it

Hotel and facilities are lovely. Staff were very friendly. Food in restaurant at night were great. Breakfast was good, eggs questionable on 1st morning. Could do with having a mini fridge in room as a fan available as room was quite warm. Tea and coffee facilities in room but could add hot chocolate as an option. TV could do with an upgrade as well as more lighting... Only ceiling light was at door so when getting ready at dressing table not much light.

We had an overnight stay here on the 26/11/2023. Arrived mid afternoon, got checked in and car registered for car park. Room was in the top floor, spacious and clean, nice bedding and bathroom, only disappointment was there wasn’t a mini fridge in room. We had dinner booked and breakfast in the morning. Dinner was from the table d Holte menu, it was ok, starter was nice, main course but slightly disappointing the triple cooked chips were over cooked, but fish was beautifully cooked. Dessert was ok. Great nights sleep in a comfortable bed, room was just warm enough, nice bathroom with shower and bath.Breakfast was very good plenty of choice in both the cooked section and the continental section. Staff are very helpful and pleasant nothing is too much trouble. Overall I would book this hotel again, it is in the old town part of Stirling and a short walk to lots of bars, cafes, Restaurants and the local small shops and shopping centre. Discovered that Stirling Castle is at the top of the road the hotel is on, so know where it is for next visit.

Nice food but could have a daily special as menu was the same every day. Needs a bit of updating as bare carpet in some parts and definitely needs double glazing as the draught from the window was freezing.

Lovely hotel right in the centre of things, full of character and pet friendly. Great food and lots of choice, booked a DBB option and the allowance for dinner covered nearly all menu choices. Will be book this hotel again. Most staff are very cheerful but not all.

There is only one way to describe our stay at the Stirling Highland Hotel and that is, dreadful. I admit that I had booked room only hence the unavailability of dinner and breakfast, but I thought, wrongly as it turned out, that a decent hotel could at least have managed two breakfasts for two mornings. My mistake, but more disappointment was to follow. The hotel had obviously seen better days and could best be described as shabby going on dilapidated with a palpable air of lack of cleaning. The room smelled fusty and the bed didn't appear to have been well made though as it turned out it was very comfortable. The window had a broken pane of glass which was dangerous, the toilet seat hinge was broken and the wall paper seams were opening up. We cancelled the second night. I certainly would not stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone

Hotel in good location, close to castle and town. Big car park and free .Arrived early to use facilities. No problem. Staff very friendly. Went back later to book in, again quick and easy. Went to room and was shocked to have to step over big pile of dirty linen one side and ice bucket, empty bottles and glasses the other. Every time we walked down corridor there was dirty crockery and empty bottles left outside doors, even left overnight. Very disappointed with room, quite dark, lamps not working, window catch broken so wouldnt close, taps were running. Only way to shut room door was to slam it. Room not particularly clean. Phoned reception and they said they would send someone to have a look. 10 minutes later they phoned to say we could move rooms. We moved to new room ,was better but still not very clean. Dust on all surfaces. Actually found a receipt on floor dated December. Leisure facilities good, but changing room and toilets again dated and not very clean, had to report that 2 loos were blocked.. Evening meal and breakfast both good. All the staff were really friendly and helpful . Enjoyed our time away but hotel didn't live up to its reputation. No question asked when we booked out if everything was ok and had we enjoyed our stay .
