Easy booking system. Good email communication regards booking. Direct response from hotel regards room request to accomodate mobility issue. Quick hotel check in and out. Staf friendly and helpful. Room amazing with lovely front of hotel view and large king bed and great walkin shower on first floor. Room had all the essentials for a good stay. Lounge and bar fab atmosphere and drinks about average for a hotel in area. Stayed at hotel many times and always enjoyed it. Area of concern this time was fact we were not made aware in advance that the hotel Grill Room was closed. This meant dinner in small function room which was dull, no view, no atmosphere. Meal was rich in taste and meant alot of food waste. Would have preferred bar meal and that menu option but was told by sales/ reservation team this not an option even though we have done this on previous stays. In relation to breakfast it was provided in the main ballroom. This very chaotic, service was poor as no-one to allocate table, serve hot drink. Food layout was not great, hot food was luke warm and overcooked. The dinner and breakfast experience was not as we have had before and has led us to cancel our next booking in March at hotel and opt to go elsewhere. Sadly disappointed as this was a birthday treat for my partner.

Nice hotel although very tired on the outside. Room was nice but the slot where you put the keycard in for the electricity for the room wasn't working correctly, we had to use extra cardboard. We tried to call reception but the phone didn't work in the room. Food was lovely in the restaurant at dinner. Breakfast in the morning was ok but over cooked haggis and the worst scrambled eggs ever- Looked like rice pudding and needed another 5 mins. tail bar needs more staff as one member on for tails , beers etc so there was a long wait.

Not the best, condition of hotel is poor & tired, needs money spending on it. Our bedroom was classed as a feature room as we looked onto the gardens, but it was very small twin, and you needed to move the chair to open the shower room door properly! We did ask to be moved but were told hotel was full, even though lots more people checked in the next day. Some staff are very good, others need more training- spilling coffee over my husband & waitress openly yawning in middle of restaurant - not professional at all. Food is just OK, not a great standard and some items not hot when served. Location is the best thing about this hotel, as it's only 10mins walk to Peebles. We had a lovely day in town, good independent shops and cafés to visit. Won't return to this hotel until money is spent on upgrades and decoration etc.

Lovely large room, clean and comfortable bed. The meal we had on our first night with the deal we had, was amazing and the staff were so attentive. Pool was a major bonus and would definitely return.

Overall had a lovely stay here. The staff were great and the food was fantastic. Lovely ground and surrounding parks to explore, and a lovely venue to head back to and relax. Will definitely be back in the future.

We had a nice break away for 2 days. The hotel was very busy and the staff coped well with the numbers. The food was ok, perhaps a bit expensive for what was served.

Lovely two night stay at Peebles Hydro. One member of staff was particularly helpful and attentive, Colin Grieve. It's nice to give credit when credit is due. Room, food was lovely and we enjoyed a swim in the pool which was very nice. Will be looking for more offers and look forward to returning.

Not the greatest! Room good, for an upgraded room, excellent view, warm and spacious. (although TV could have been bigger/better) Meals, mediocre at best, dining room - baltic temperatures, very slow service. Was overcharged at checkout, didn't deduct the deposit we had already paid and we didn't notice until at home checking later. Not happy with the system of automatic service fee on your bill without consultation. Don't think we shall be returning..........

Easy booking with myhotelbreak with good email communication. Deal was 2 nights bb & dinner on 1st night, paying at hotel. Quick checkin and room ready with 10mins of early arrival. All advance special requests met for partner with mobility issue. Room huge with large bed, bathroom with walk in shower and front of hotel view. Choice of food throughout stay was excellent. Staff friendly, helpful and informative. Facilities excellent and everything clean n well presented. Lots of choice at breakfast after great sleep in comfy bed with good pillows. Easy check out at end of stay. Only slight negative as price of drinks but wont put us off returning or recommending. Loved our stay.

Beutifull hotel, nice location. Room with bath and very nice view,. Staff very pleasant especsially the young lady that booked us in and out. Unfortunately we did'nt get her name. The only downside of our visit was the two evening meals, The first one in Millers bar, i ordered a steak which was nice to start then was all gristle and unedable, second night i ordered lamb which again was very chewy and with little bones in it. On both occasions i mentioned my concerns to the matre de who appologised and said he would mention this to the chef .

Great location for a stroll down the beautiful main St of peebles. Upon arrival at the hotel they couldn't find our booking but we got there eventually. Dinner on the first night was great service was excellent.Breakfast was OK given we didn't arrive till 9.45 no bowls for cereals had to ask for them. Dinner on the second night was a disaster had to wait 25 min for a drink while staff stood around chatting rotisserie chicken for 2 we had to carve at the table ourselves. Gratuity was added to everything you order which I feel is wrong this should be optional as for a 2 night stay we were over £20 in Gratuity alone.

Had a wonderful time at Peebles Hydro. Even the weather was on our side. Staff were lovely, attentive, and so friendly yet still very professional and approachable. The hotel has a lot to offer couples and families. Lots of activities there as well as beautiful gardens around. Well worth a visit

This was our first stay here.The room was amazing.Staff were very helpful and so nice.We had our first night dinner included in the 2 night deal.The meal was excellent so we booked a table for the second night and again had a lovely meal.Breakfast is ok but the tatty scones need improving.We have booked to return in a few weeks as overall we had a lovely break ,thank you to all the staff and see you soon

Fabulous stay at the hydro. Hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and had a wonderful atmosphere. Dinner was lovely and I need to commend the staff for their service throughout the stay. Excellent all round.

The Peebles Hydro is located in a nice scenic area, and being not far from the busy wee town it offers the opportunity to walk there.The 2 night stay gave us a relaxing first day at the hotel using the pool/spa facilities before an enjoyable meal at the Grill Restaurant with the Bottle of Malbec reasonably priced. 2nd day used the leisure facilities again and we took a taxi into town and had a few drinks in decent bars before returning by taxi to dine again at the Hydro. We had a wetroom in our allocated room which was appreciated for one with mobility issues. The hotel is massive and must be hard to maintain standards, but staff wise they have lots of lovely staff. Don't like Gin but we are sure the onsight 1881 Gins will go done well with many visitors.

Lovely grand old hotel both inside and out. Yes it does look a bit dated and tired in places but they have refurbished areas but to be honest the old place has earned the right. From location to the revolving door entrance to the entry stairs to the massive ornate dining room this hotel screams the Overlook but without the horror. But that is where the fun starts. Rooms are great (room 22) with comfy beds great views and great shower. There is plenty activities on site so it can be as chilled or busy as you like. The food both in the dining room and tail bar is top notch. Staff are polite, approachable and always on hand. Great couple of days and could not recommend the Hydro enough
