Rob Roy Hotel, Aberfoyle

I stayed at the Rob Roy hotel, Aberfoyle on Saturday night with a group of friends. The staff were friendly and helpful though the bar was a bit short staffed meaning the barman seemed a bit harassed. The rooms were clean, comfy and seemed to have been decorated recently. We had a DBB deal and it was a bargain. 3 course dinner had a good selection of choices and breakfast was really good. Service was great and really quick. I’ve stayed here before and will definitely be back again.

Second time stay at this hotel,didn't disappoint. Only issue was the shower, it didn't work. Went to reception andproblem was resolved within 30 minutes.

Great experience at the Rob Roy hotel. Everything was perfect. Staff were all very helpful and happy nothing was a bother to them, they all went over and beyond. Rooms were clean. Food was excellent every meal had a great variety of choice, all served to your table. Covid rules were adhered to throughout the hotel. Excellent value for money, would definitely recommend to family and friends and definitely will be back again. Thank you for the great experience.

Repeat visit but our first for a long time due to the ongoing Covid restrictions. As always the staff were friendly, helpful and obviously well prepared to welcome back visitors in difficult cirstances. Our room was spotless and although housekeeping was limited to before arrival and after departure we didn't find it a problem (e.g. if fresh towels or any other room essentials were required, reception provided). It was a relaxing break with Aberfoyle providing an excellent base for exploring the surrounding countryside.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Room had constantly running shower which went from good temperature to very cold and very hot without warning, missing window latch, tiles falling off bathroom walls and mould on bathroom ceiling. Stairs to rooms awful looking and need painted and tidied up. Lovely views of discarded building material through most windows. Glass on at least three doors also cracked/tered. Lounge area not comfortable or welcoming at all. No comfy seating areas to entice you to stay and have a drink at the bar. Tables with four hard backed chairs did not look comfortable. Dining room was particularly bad. Windows have frosted glass so very dark and dismal room with no natural light. Hotel seems to have a mainly elderly clientele who seemed quite happy with their surroundings. This hotel is in desperate need of repair.

Just back from 2 night stay at the Rob Roy Hotel and safe to say we will definitely be booking again. Everything was excellent from the food to the service from the friendly and helpful staff. Extremely good value for money and highly recommended!

Car park needs better drainage as it was full of water and made very difficult to get into our car without getting soaked. Shower in room has very poor pressure room 212, we stayed in room 102 a couple of weeks before and pressure in that room was very poor also. Food in Restuarant excellent as is the staff in all areas of hotel
