Woodenstirrers instead of teaspoons a step too far for a quality hotel. Missed a few biscuits in the room a norm in most hotels. Could also do with a body wash , also a norm these days. Prefer to be served with hot drinks at breakfast. Food was nice quality and staff very pleasant. An enjoyable stay.

We were checked in fairly quickly the member of staff was friendly. The door to the pool and sauna is a bit tricky and the changing facilities are very small. The pool and Jacuzzi were really cold, we would have been more relaxed and been able to use the facilities longer if it were warmer. When we were seated for dinner we were given the itison menu even although we didn't book through itison and were not offered an alternative, however when we asked for the full menu it was provided. The rooms are very basic but clean. Our meal was lovely but there is not a great selection and I was surprised to have my prawn tail served in wine glass.

Stayed here twice now, first time was good pool and sauna were great, rooms were great all was good! Second time again good - the only diffrence being we stayed in the hotel for dinner, the restraunt was busy but the service was not good we ordered water never recieved it, asked for a bottle of prosecco never recieved that either and the food was average, the staff were polite but not very attentive it was a real dampner as this stay was a birthday treat. the hotel and the grounds are really lovely though.

Fab stay just like many others we have had in this hotel. Quick checkin by pleasant informative staff. Room ready even though we were early. Great privilege room with extras. Room /bathroom spacious clean and had all we needed. Brilliant service at bar where we enjoyed bar meal and drinks. Excellent evening meal as part of our DBB deal. The steak on a stone well worth the £5 supplement. Good relaxing night in bar and excellent nights sleep in room. Breakfast times till 11am so no chaos when we had ours after 10.15. Choice on offer to our liking. Will come again soon and would recommend not just the hotel, it’s staff and service but also the chilled and interesting setting.

Just back from a two night break at the Barony Castle hotel every thing was first class from the moment we got there reception warm and welcoming rooms clean and comfortable food excellent breakfast amazing eggs Benedict or poached haddock included in the menu all staff very pleasant would not hesitate to return to this hotel and would highly recommend it to others

We had stayed at the Barony Castle hotel in May, and, would you believe it, we were allocated the same room. Room 123 is a pleasant room but has no outlook. But beware anyone who moves in, for the television switches itself on at irregular intervals. This was obviously the same television which woke us up several times in the middle of the night in May and which repeated the same trick in August. When we mentioned this problem at reception before we left, it was clear that they had known all about the problem since our previous visit. Not even an apology. Also, be aware that thes are not available on several days in the week and the pool may also be out of action.

Lovely looking hotel, reception area looked clean and tidy with a fresh smell of paint, receptionist was very friendly, we were apparently upgraded to a prestige room, I really couldn’t see what was prestige about it? A couple of bottles of water and some irn bru doesn’t come under my idea of prestige! The room looked tired and dated and there were quite a few marks/stains in various places, the lift in the hotel looked like it had seen better days! Brvice was terrible there was 4 staff members around the bar area and none of them seemed to know what they were doing, I stood there for ages trying to get some service, eventually someone served me, I presume a manager as he was wearing shirt and tie, but got somebody else to put it through the till, again more waiting , apart from that and the bad weather it was a nice stay!

My friends and I had a very nice time and enjoyed everything about our stay we also had spa treatments with a very enthusiastic and friendly the who gave first class treatments. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful food also lovely couldn't fault anything thank you .Will certainly be back .

Lovely room allocated at the rear of the hotel. A bit noisy as the wall separating our room and next door was paper thin so we heard everything. Staff service was excellent, food awesome and very well presented.

Leisure facilities were disappointing, no cubicles in the ladies changing area. Sauna unavailable one day . Area along the edge of the pool and particularly the around the whirlpool green with algae. No safety rail to allow access to and from whirlpool. I received a cut on my leg from ragged tiles in the whirlpool. Reported to management.
