I have stayed here several times in the past and again enjoyed my stay. The hotel was very busy, and at breakfast,we had to wait ages to order our tea and coffee. The leisure club was disappointing.Classic Britain did let us know that the Jacuzzi was being repaired. However the ladies' changing room was unbearably hot and the showers and changing room floor were dirty. The staff in all areas were extremely friendly and courteous.

We had a lovely relaxing and enjoyable stay at the Fairmint on 21st Nov with the added bonus of a Christmas Fayre held in the hotel on 22nd. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful in every way. We took our dogs and they couldn't have been made more welcome!

WE HAD A LOVELY BREAK AT THE FAIRMONT ON THE OCCASION OF MY HUSBAND'S 70TH BIRTHDAY. THE STAFF COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE ATTENTIVE BUT WERE NOT AT ALL INTRUSIVE. WE RECEIVED A ROOM UPGRADE AND A GLASS OF BUBBLY EACH ON ARRIVAL AND AT THE RESTAURANT(BOOKED SEPARATEL)ALSO TRUFFLES ON A PLATE WISHING MY HUSBAND "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" WERE IN OUR ROOM WHEN WE GOT BACK AFTER DINNER.

Reception was professional and welcoming. On arrival in room found a half empty bottle of champagne in fridge and contacted housekeeping re same. This should have been discovered in cleaning of room. Room was first class but whilst hotel is of five star quality breakfast was two star. Food in breakfast buffet was bland and not as hot as it should have been.

Delay at check-in as booking hadn't registered at the hotel but was thankfully sorted. Stayed at hotel before but the Italian restaurant wasn't open so booked a table but the service was terrible. Had to ask for our drinks which were sat on the bar for a good 10 minutes as nobody available to bring them over plus had to ask for water and also had to ask for our dishes from first course to be removed when we were waiting on our main course to be served. Several tables around us were uncleared of previous guests dishes,which was rather unsightly.The service here was not that ofa 5 star hotel. We were in room 1081 and many of the room doors in this area were terrible with several dirty scuff marks which just made the area looked rather drab. The negative points didn't totally spoil our stay but just not what you'd expect from this hotel. The swimming pool area was fine and breakfast area was also good.

Service in restaurants was not up to the standard expected and there was a shortage of staff, especially at breakfast.

We have had several visits to Fairmont St. Andrews, the last three booked through Classic Britain. Their prices are extremely competitive and excellent value for a hotel of this calibre. As always we enjoyed friendly five star service from a very welcoming staff and look forward to our next visit.

fantastic hotel,staff & service outstanding!! my only dissapointment was small televisions in the bar areas, bigger tv sets are a must for sport coverages. regards tom kennedy giffnock glasgow.

Stayed at the Fairmont at the weekend there and everything was lovely. Staff very friendly and rooms stunning. One minor thing I would mention about the bedrooms is: the dressing table could do with a little polish underneath the glass. But all in all everything was outstanding.

Service excellent. One small comment, unable to book meal in the hotel at a decent time on the Friday night. No availability till 9.30pm in one restaurant and none at all in the other.

From start to finish our experience was nothing but wonderful. We were warmly greeted and shown to our room quickly and efficiently with friendly banter. Our stay was to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary which was recognized by all staff including Management who sent chocolates and a personalized card. We enjoyed a lovely dinner in the Italian restaurant and a bountiful breakfast the following morning. This is a wonderful hotel set in beautiful surrounds, staffed by a team who are dedicated to making your stay wonderful.

Could you check details of our booking? Was it dinner on one night only? At breakfast there should have been more staff especially for a 5 star establishment
