We had a lovely weekend. The hotel was excellent. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent. My only comment would be to change the dinner menu a bit more for the second night as some of us had to have the same meal. All facilities were excellent.

Unfortunately the only issue we had during our stay was that the carlsberg lager pump could not be used as the keg had just beeen changed and the beer was warm and could not be poured this was the case for our entire first evening and we had to pay more money for bottled lager which was not really what we wanted, very very disappointing. My husband is a brewery employee and he was angry that this was the case as it was totally avoidable.

Stayed 2 nights, first night room not good, gloomy, dusty, broken lightshade and bulbs but due to wedding, no alternate rooms free. Moved for 2nd night to better room. Food at dinner very good, pleasant atmosphere and helpful staff. Breakfast plentiful and filling. Used beauty treatments, good, but not pool although it looked nice. Hotel very conveniently situated in centre of town and easy to get to. Worth mentioning in 'blurb' that only a few hundred meters from Stirling Castle.

In general, amost enjoyable short break. accommodation, food and refreshments were all top class, although having to wait an hour for dessert on Sunday evening took a bit of the shine off.

Staff professional and courteous . Dining room staff attentive , warm and friendly without being intrusive. Special mention and thanks to the young lady with blonde hair in pony tail... sorry don't know name... she was a gem and a real pleasure to meet. Dining room a bit on the cold side and draughty . Breakfast cold buffet extensive and interesting. Breakfast hot selection very poor. Although good selection , the food was tepid at best . Bacon overcooked , fried eggs hard , sausages overcooked , tomatoes barely cooked . The hot food was displayed in dishes over bain marie , however when a tray was removed and replaced , the tray was cold and it would have taken time for its surface to heat up over the hot water. Bedroom comfortable but had 2 bulbs needing replacement , one in lamp and one in bathroom. Bathroom adequate with plenty of towels . Bath difficult to step out of and hand rail in wtong place s it was nearer shower than centre of wall. View of under rim of W.C. not pleasant as it was very dirty and hadn't been cleaned. Facial tissue box only had a couple of tissues in it I had spread up bed , prior to domestic staff cleaning room arrriving , and returned to find my hasty work had not been rectified ie duvet was longer on one side than the other.... so bed not touched. I know the points are perhaps nit picking , however the hotel does sport 4 stars . We have stayed before and will return . Overall we had a pleasant stay Thank you

The Highland Hotel in Stirling is full of character and in that respect it stands out amongst many 4 star hotels. The building is laden with individuality having been in its previous life, the High School of Stirling. The bedrooms are clean, spacious and comfortable with all the expected amenities with the possible exception of a safe. The facilities of the hotel are very good as is the service from the pleasant and helpful staff. Best of all is the food which is exceptionally good.

This is the second time we have visited this hotel as a family and it has by far the best set up for a family who can't have two kids sharing a bed. The kids in a separate room just off ours is ideal. They have there own space, albeit small, TV and bunk beds. The leisure pool is lovely a bit warmer than some others we have visited and the food and wine is sufficiently grown up for us but cater a still for the wee ones. Add in its proximity to the castle and it is a winner.

This hotel is no 4 star. Beds uncomfortable, rusty water stains in bath. Although staff in evening lovely and apologetic service was poor food was average. Breakfast service was bad was eating cearal when cooked breakfast came quality was cheap. Pool was like public baths nowhere to hang towels or robes no where to sit only 6 beds. I have stayed many times in 4 star hotels through classic britain but have to say this was the worst. We made the most of it but would not stay here again

Enjoyable Stay. However it was stated we would get bathrobes, slippers and late check out with the deal, and we never. Bedroom 333 seemed 2 be a long trek to any other part of the hotel.
