Bedrooms,housekeeping and admin staff & breakfast - first class. Eating in the restaurant in the evening is however a bit of a lottery. We stayed for four nights 13-16/08/12 on DBB basis, 1st night service was very slow, 2nd & 3rd nights were a vast improvement 4th night complete and utter disaster- starters arrived ok, drinks were eventually collected by ourselves from the bar, we were informed that our main course (chicken), was off then informed it was on when it eventually arrived it was not as described on the menu but a piece of pre-cooked chicken breast covered in gravy which was tepid. As neither of us could eat this apology for cuisine the hotel management reduced our bill by the food allowance on our DBB tarrif for that night, adequate compensation? you can judge. BE WARNED!! This is the only restaurant we've been in where no-one came round on any evening to enquire if your meal is OK, maybe they knew the answer already. However to be constructive it may be advantageous to introduce some customer service & management into the restaurant during evening meals.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Ramada Plaza. Asked for room with view and were pleased to overlook lake and bridge. Our room was light airy and modern with flat screen tv, air-con and stylish bathroom. We were half-board and could have done with a little more choice on the menu, but there was the option of paying a supplement to choose from the full menu. The food was well cooked and hot with a good choice on the buffet breakfast. The staff were pleasant, helpful and efficient. There was a wedding party on our first evening and we did have to wait quite a long time for food and drink, but we were on holiday and had plenty of time so we didn't let this worry us too much. The underground car park is definitely worth a mention. Plenty of room and a lift up to reception - what more could you want? The position of the hotel is perfect, central for beach, shops and plenty of seating nearby to watch the world go by. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to friends.

Without a doubt one of the best hotels we've stayed in for a long time. Almost every feature of the hotel was just as one would wish it to be! If there were slightly discordant notes they centred on reception on the day of our arrival when we thought the receptionist was a trifle aloof and unwelcoming and the following day,at dinner,one of the waitresses seemed rather curt in her manner.

There was a gap of one hour between us being served our starters (after a 20 minute wait and getting bread which was 'being baked' 10 minutes after the starter). Other guests were in a similar position yet the dining room was not busy. Again, almost finished two course breakfast before tea arrived.

booked DBB with wine however we were never offered the wine and there were only 3 choices to choose from the main course, seabass,lamb and mushroom risotto and i don't like any of these so i had a steak which i had to pay a supplement for. There was a dreadful smell coming up though the sink in the bathroom so if you didn't leave the plug in the smell was disgusting. The hotel is very nice and up to date and the rooms are well equipped. The service in the restaurant was a little on the slow side in the evening, i don't know if this had anything to do with the wedding function that was being held in the hotel directly adjacent to the restaurant. The door from the function room was constantly being opened and all the noise from the function came rushing into the restaurant which spoilt the atmosphere in the restaurant

We throughly enjoyed our midweek 4 nights Dinner, Bed & Breakfast break in the last week of June. The hotel ticked all the boxes for us and it was great value.

This was our second visit in 2 months and as per the first we could not fault the hotel, except for one little hiccup, one morning there was a business meeting who were having breakfast, as a result there was not enough food and had considerable time to wait until replenished by staff. Bread straight from freezer not a good option if you did not want it toasted. Having said that will definitely return.

The only thing that's let's this super hotel down is the lack of on site pool and spa facilities although use of Victoria leisure club across the road is ok but definitely not 4* standard .

Lovely hotel, comfortable rooms and excellent service. Just one small niggle...too much black pepper added to meals.....not to my personal taste and for me it spoilt delicious dishes. People can add pepper if they like it.For me it spolied the mushrooms at breakfast and the beautiful steak at dinner
