Had a lovely stay with friends , hotel , room , staff and food were excellent , my only complaint was long wait for breakfast as food wasn’t getting topped up quick enough to comply with the amount of guests in hotel

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Huge spacious room. The only reason I give the room 9 instead of 10 is that the bed was extremely uncomfortable - very hard, could feel the springs and the squeak of the mattress when turning woke me a lot. And just one pillow?

We had another wonderful visit to this lovely hotel! The room was really nice and spacious, the food was great and plenty of it and the reception area very welcoming! As usual, the staff are always so nice, kind and very accommodating! We will return!

Excellent hotel, spotless clean in rooms and public areas, breakfast and evening meal was of a very high standard with great choice and generous portions at the evening meal and a comprehensive large selection at the buffet breakfast which was continually topped up and was always warm. Room was well equipped and very comfortable, as was the public areas. All staff we met were very helpful and friendly. Would certainly recommend for an overnight stay

Fantastic relaxing break! Me, hubs and pup loved it!! Scored the room an 8 only because the bathroom/room was a little tired but this could be due to us being in a dog friendly room. Because the room was spacious and immaculate. No negative feedback and looking to book again.

Good hotel in a goog location,but very busy.rooms were nice and food and service 1st class.breakfast can be a bit of a lottery as everyone comes in about same time.

Had a lovely overnight. Hotel reception and lounge and dining area are lovely. Rooms are a bit older fashioned but clean. Staff very helpful. Drinks are a bit pricey but we would stay again.

Lovely hotel. We paid for DB&B. The 3 course dinner was delicious! Rooms are getting a little tired decor wise but bed was very comfortable. Room was spotless. Bar area was really nice with great seating areas to sit and relax. I would definitely stay here again.

To say i was disappointed was an understatement especially as we had visited once before in January 2022 and had a great experience. We arrived on Friday, The room we were given was an a-joining room so we could hear all the noise from the room next door, we could hear their conversations and if we could hear them, then of course they could hear us, we had thought about just leaving and going home and the only reason we didn’t is because we had had a few drinks and couldn’t drive. We stay in Livingston so it’s over an hour to get to the hotel but as have stayed previously we thought it was worth the travel even in rush hour. The walls are so thin that you can hear people switching the lights, plugs on next door. The doors are so heavy that everytime someone entered or left their room, the door would slam, There was kids running up and down the corridors making such a noise. If there are cameras in the corridors then they can check this, by the time i reported it, they just have got fed up and stopped. We had came for a nice dinner some drinks and a relaxed night, we didn’t get that due to the noise and also kids running about outside in the wee arch aswell without a care in the world. The food in the evening was nice but for breakfast it was just a let down, there was queue for the buffet and after lifting a plate to give to my husband it was so hot that i burned my finger and it was red raw and painful. When i asked for a cold pack i was told there was none and the best she could do was a glass of ice so i made do however in a situation like that a manager or first aider should be called to check all is ok, if it had happened to an elderly person it could have been a lot worse, i did speak to the restaurant manager on the way out and bring it to her attention, now back to the breakfast, for each of us it was disappointing, there was about 7 of us standing waiting for fried eggs, it wasnt very organised and when the eggs came by time it got to us there were only broken ones left and one slice of toast, we had been waiting a lot longer than what we should have, we’ve stayed at other hotels and the buffet has been a lot more organised, the link sausages were really dry and tasteless, there was no square sausage which was also disappointing. The whole experience was so disappointing. I did speak to the receptionist before leaving and she as given a card to message the manager directly as she was off. We book with my hotel breaks all the time and always have a great time, never ever had any issues but this time was different and feel i need to give an honest opinion.

stayed for the 3rd time and couldn’t be happier. the rooms are so clean and spacious, we got ungraded which was a nice surprise. all three times were the DBB deal and the food was of such a great standard would 100% recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Riverside Hotel. Lovely big room with two king sized beds and patio doors leading out to garden area. Only downside was lack of chest of drawers and shower which was difficult to operate. Overall a great stay at excellent rate. Real value for money.

Top notch hotel. Great staff. Friendly and helpful. Food was just lovely. Well presented and piping hot. Our room was clean and modern. Big walk in shower. Room 139. Outlook to fields. Beware very long corridor if you have mobility issues. Good base for visiting West coast beaches such as Ayr Troon and Largs. Indoor koi carp fishpond at restaurant entrance. Very comfy bed and pillows.

Had a lovely time at the Riverside Lodge in Irvine, the staff were lovely. Unfortunately the only reason I wouldn't stay again was due to the fact that the mattress was really to firm for me so didn't sleep. One of the waiting staff took our main plates away and asked if we had ordered our dessert and we said we had but instead of going to get it she stood and spoke to the couple at the table behind us for nearly 15 mins that we just decided to cancel the dessert so disappointed in that.

My wife and I had a great overnight stay here it was fantastic. The reception staff were great and the waitress at dinner was really nice bar staff brilliant even had a laugh with cleaner in the morning before we left .The room was great and bed was one of the best I've slept in.we will be back
