Well appointed hotel unfortunately food misses the mark. If looking for a peaceful time do not stay on a Saay night - bedroom floors can be extremely noisy through to the early hours

My husband booked a 3 night stay for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and his birthday. Our weekend started brilliantly when Fiona on reception upgraded us to a VIQ room and a bottle of wine - Oh My how wonderful was that!!! The weekend has been fabulous and we are looking to book for Hogmanay with friends next year. The Bar & Grill was superb and Christine and Scott could teach the service staff a few things in the Fleming Restaurant! Fiona on reception knows her stuff, she would make a fab Hotel Manager, she was wonderful in her knowledge of the hotel and the area. A little disappointed that some of the housekeeping staff couldn't understand English, but when we found the Housekeeping Manager issue easily sorted. Bit sad that the bath wasn't cleaned during our time at the Hotel, tried to find someone to no avail; but not a problem as we used the great power shower!!! We loved our stay at the Westerwood, a few little issues which you wouldn't expect from a 4* hotel but nothing major and nothing to stop us going back. If there is a nominee for Employee of the Year it would go to Fiona. Well Done Fiona you are an ambassador for the Hotel!! I booked three rooms for an anniversary celebration , we were very please when we went to our rooms as they were big and the bathrooms were beautiful. I had called during the week to book a table for dinner as I know Saturdays can be busy but not ready to then wait an hour and fifteen minute s for our table. Theycwere apologetic bit we kept waiting. After I complained they offered to pay for our wine. I was so looking forward to ours stay and this just spoiled it for me and my husband as it was for our anniversary. I hope that if it was not so busy I would have enjoyed it more but I am reluctant to return and spend my hard earned money and be disappointed again. I book lots of breaks with Classic Britain and this is the first time I have been disappointed.

We all had a great stay and the staff were very helpful. The rooms were lovely and was value for money. Only downside is lack of vegtables served with main course and portions not great. However, that said we would definately be back!

Service was not good, very unprofessional for a 4star hotel, the lunch was not good we had to complain about this we had to ask staff twice for wine list and dessert list, we asked what type of lagers and they didn't know. I asked for my steak well done it was pink at bits, not impressed.

Fantastic deal, we had a great time. The rooms are slighly dated, bedding abit worn and pillows extremely soft.Bed very comfortable though. Toilet very large and shower fantastic.Would recommend to friends and family.

Great stay Rooms modern clean and comfortable with everything you could need Food was good but let down by the random and quality of service ( some staff kept bringing us wrong order and Wrong bill was presented to us )The temperature in the bar & grill was very low and some folks ate wearing their coats !!! spa was good and treatment lovely and relaxing Would definitely stay again if in the area and would book through Classic Britain as got excellent value for money

Hotel was nice enough. Went on a last minute db&b offer. Good value for money. Got an upgrade to a superior room which was clean and tidy, only thing I would say is there's no toilet brush in the bathroom and the windows in bedroom were stiff to open. Food was nice, plenty to choose from at breakfast time. Dinner was nice although baked Alaska was bit on the tiny portion size. Staff were very pleasant and chatty. There were 2 lots of young football groups there during our stay and the boys were very well behaved and well mannered compared to some groups that have been in hotels we've been in previous. Overall a good friendly hotel but wouldn't stay any longer than an overnight.

Excellent. There was a big wait and a little confusion on the 2nd but I understand you were hosting a football club and sea bass was a bit over overcooked but apart from that everything was excellent

We have stayed at the Westerwood many times but this past visit will be our last sadly. The hotel is looking very tired especially the rooms. We had a family room booked but on arrival there were 4 single beds, I did mention to the reception staff that I would have preferred a double bed for my husband and I to which they said they would organise but never did. Food was ok but nothing special.

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel - the room, dinner, leisure facilities and breakfast were all excellent. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. A pleasant surprise with a real 'feel good factor' at a very good rate - we'll certainly be back!

Food was delightful at dinner however as the upstairs bar was over crowded we went down to other bar only to be told we couldn't get bar food as it stopped at 5pm - not great customer experience!! Rooms were nice size and quality! Unable to get into the pool was as it was over crowded with lots of kids and general public - not happy about that really! Never been on a classic Britain break away and not had use of pool for being that busy!
