as we informed the duty manager upon booking out the room (114) was cold.the very small radiator in the room was not powerful enough for the size of room.

We have just spent one night dbb at the Crown and Mitre with frieds. We had a very enjoyable time, the dinner and breakfast were excellent and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Will certainly return.

ABSOLUTE FANTASTIC ROOMS , HAD BOOKED 2 FAMILY ROOMS AND GOT 2 SPACIOUS WELL HEATED QUALITY ROOMS WITH NICE DECOR AND COMFY BEDS . THE MEAL SERVICE WAS PROMPT AND EFFICIENT AND THE THE FOOD WAS GOOD . THE POOL WAS WARM AND INVITING AND WELL WORTH A VISIT . WOULD BOOK AGAIN DEFINATELY .

Enjoyed our 3 night stay, room clean and nice only issue was TV unable to get picture. Breakfast was good with good variety, dinner although food was well cooked it was a bit disappointing as same menu each night. Lounge comfortable and staff pleasant, pool was an added bonus. There was some confusion over our bill as computer did not recognise the classic Britain package, but sorted no problem once pointed out to reception staff.

Immediate impression of Hotel when entering foyeur is that it is a bit dated with a very old carpet. Room however was very clean and comfortable, if slighlty small. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food choice for breakfast was very good with everything piping hot. Evening meals within the Peace and Plenty restaurant were a delightfull experience, with first class service and absolutely delicious food.

Found staff very helpful, handy town centre parking, dinner menu was excellant, rooms were clean tidy and spacious. We would recommend hotel to others, only critisism would be the entrance hall carpet could be doing with repacement.

I fell over a toolbox left lying behind a door that I needed to exit to leave the hotel. The management called an ambulance as I was in terrible pain and unable to move from the prone position I was in. The ambulance took me to the hospital where I spent the morning receiving treatment and xrays. On returning to the hotel the duty manager informed me that it was probably a guest who moved the toolbox which he claimed the maintance worker had left by the wall so it really wasnt anyones fault. No apology just a statement. On leaving the hotel the receptionist gave me the bill which was over

Husband,daughter 9(age 12) and I stayed for 3 nights in July 12.Well sized family room - only let down by condition of bathroom. Bath,flooring and tiling required replacement (bath very badly stained).Stayed on 2 nights DBB offer - great value,food lovely no complaints.Lovely pool and jacuzzi which was available for guests to use up to 11pm - daughter loved this!

The car park is quite difficult to find. If you are using SATNAV, type in Blackfriars Street. However, the Hotel is lovely, so well worth a visit. Staff members are very friendly, and the food is good quality at breakfast and dinner. The swimming pool is quite small, but water temperature is nice and warm. Unfortunately, lockers have no locks on them, so leave any valuables secure in your room. Situated in the heart of Carlisle, the Hotel is ideal for easy access to shops.

I was most impressed by the friendliness of the staff - a real Cumbrian welcome! BUT please get a decent proofreader to check over the room service menu - Tagletelle? Tartar Sauce?

Had a excellant stayat the crown&mitre,the food room and staff were first class,must thank classic britain for their booking as well
