Great two days at the Gables all the staff were very friendly and helpful meals were fantastic fresh and always hot our room was clean and well presented but was very noisy with what we thought was a tumble dryer running but stopped at 11pm think we were next to the laundry room

Two night break with breakfast each day and 1 dinner. We received a warm welcome on our arrival and were quickly booked in and provided directions to our room. The room was acceptable with some minor markings on the carpet and some signs of mould on the bathroom tiles. The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly and efficient. The star part of the break was the evening meals and breakfast. The inclusive dinner which we had on the first night was very good which encouraged us to book the following night as well and again we were not disappointed. Similarly the breakfast was excellent with freshly cooked to order food and efficient service. The hotel is on the edge of the village but is only minutes in the car from all the attractions of Gretna and Carlisle is only a short car journey away which is recommended for the Cathedral and Castle and the quaint alleys and lanes around the central shopping area. I would return in the future and certainly recommend the hotel for value for money for this deal.

Staff pleasant and food good - stay spoiled by the state of the room,bed not comfortable and room cleanliness poor. Bathroom tiles mouldy, paintwork and area around the window not clean.

Great hotel been here 4 times now and always have a good welcome and meals are delicious. The entertainment that was on was very good and not too loud. Looking forward to going back again this time a bit longer !!!

A super two night break. Great value for money. Friendly staff, good food. Only downside was the wafer thin bedroom walls - we could hear every sound from the next door room and assume they could hear us too!

Just had very pleasant two night stay rooms spacious clean could not fault place. Good selection for breakfast and evening. Only one criticism would be at 10am early checkout. But very enjoyable for short break.

Stayed on a Sunday and although we enjoyed the food,can I suggest a deal that would involve a traditional Sunday lunch as part of the price.

Staff really friendly and helpful. Lovely dining and breakfast rooms. Food great. Wine lovely! Only blip was 1am fire alarm! Unfortunate. But we will be back.

Good base to explore surrounding area. Hotel comfortable, staff friendly. Food good , but would benefit from an alternative menu if staying for two or more nights. All in all good value for money. My hotel break did indicate upgrade to best room available, hotel not busy when we stayed, but would assume we were in a standard room - which was very good.
