Top notch hotel. Great staff. Friendly and helpful. Food was just lovely. Well presented and piping hot. Our room was clean and modern. Big walk in shower. Room 139. Outlook to fields. Beware very long corridor if you have mobility issues. Good base for visiting West coast beaches such as Ayr Troon and Largs. Indoor koi carp fishpond at restaurant entrance. Very comfy bed and pillows.

Had a lovely time at the Riverside Lodge in Irvine, the staff were lovely. Unfortunately the only reason I wouldn't stay again was due to the fact that the mattress was really to firm for me so didn't sleep. One of the waiting staff took our main plates away and asked if we had ordered our dessert and we said we had but instead of going to get it she stood and spoke to the couple at the table behind us for nearly 15 mins that we just decided to cancel the dessert so disappointed in that.

My wife and I had a great overnight stay here it was fantastic. The reception staff were great and the waitress at dinner was really nice bar staff brilliant even had a laugh with cleaner in the morning before we left .The room was great and bed was one of the best I've slept in.we will be back

First stay for a birthday break. Lovely entrance and foyer. Warm welcome by reception Allocated room 221 near the end of hallway. Comfortable room, wine on arrival. Hairdryer, safe, iron and ironing board available along with a selection of toiletries and tea/coffee facilities. Bathrooms a little tired and dated but perfectly functional. Bed comfortable, thick duvet and plump pilows and a lovely warm room. Used restaurant for meal and breakfast. Good choice of options and food good. Bar prices a little high but probably on a par with others. Nice grounds, busy hotel with repeat custom. Would return

A nice clean, well maintained hotel with friendly bar staff, reception staff and restaurant staff. Unfortunately the restaurant lets the side down. The waiters/waitresses are not well trained and the food is limited to 5 starters and 5 main courses. All of which we would not have chosen if given the full menu. We ordered a £30 bottle of wine with our meal each night. The wine was nice but the service wasn’t up to standard. Having the bottle put on the table without even opening it and asking for the wine to be tasted isn’t up to 4 star standard. A little training from the restaurant manager is needed. Also, get rid of the set menu and put a supplement on the full menu. Most people would be happy to pay more for food they want. If we had known we would only be given a choice of 5 things we didn’t like, we would never have booked. Apart from the small things above, the hotel is very good.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay with my brother and his wife. The rooms were big lovely and very clean. The meal on the first night was class and the breakfast the nxt day and the day after was good quality food and food was hot and you had as much as we could eat. Would definitely return to this hotel as we have been a good few times now. We would recommend it to our family and friends

Lovely hotel, years since iv been,smashing welcome from receptionist, she checked us in and our rooms were ready… lovely view…ground floor room 133&134 both twin rooms with 2 chairs in each…good size & plenty storage…very clean…nice dinner at night from young pleasant staff…breakfast in morning usual buffet style , a few things running out but replenished quickly…will defo be back thankyou

We really enjoyed our overnight stay at this hotel. We were allocated a lovely double room with 2 king sized beds. Our 2 course evening meal was really tasty and had quite a few choices also. In the morning it was a case of eat as much as you wanted from the cold and hot side with excellent choices . Fruit juice / milk / tea and coffee were all to hand . For a total cost of £79 with a large bottle of red wine in your room this is a deal second to none!! We will be back! All the staff we spoke with were very friendly and helpfull.

From the outside the hotel looks great and all the public areas have been upgraded and look great. Unfortunately our room was reasonably basic and I think a family room with two beds. It was a large room so can't criticise that. We went out for the day after our first night and returned late afternoon to find that ody had been in to clean our room or make up the beds.

This was our second time visiting and had once again a fabulous stay. Great price for 2 on a DBB stay with a Complimentary bottle of wine. The Hotel is very well decorated and furnished. The Restaurant is well staffed and everyone is helpful and polite. Your menus are delicious. The breakfast layout in the morning has something for everyone and is well stocked. We will definitely be back and also will visit The Fenwick Hotel soon.

Food was amazing, room was amazing (148 - couple of small things… bathroom door wouldn’t shut properly, no hook for hanging towels behind bathroom door, shower dial a bit hard to turn). The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful. Defo coming back to this hotel
