Fantastic stay. All our guests received an upgrade free of charge. Staff very attentive. Provided private dining for our party. Excellent time had by all.

Enjoyed stay well appointed bedroom with lovely Arran Aromatic toiletries. Faced road but could not hear any noise. Dinner was great- quality of food, choice and presentations. Service was very good although we did not get coffee we ordered . Hotel was very busy with tribute night and had a good atmosphere. Will return.

Another fantastic stay at the Cardrona. Rooms as ever are very spacious and extremely comfortable - the views either side of the hotel are absolutely beautiful especially at this time of year. Food in the restaurant was delicious and portion sizes were plentiful. Breakfast has changed from the last time we visited and is now self service buffet, no oomplaints with this either and plenty to suit every taste. Was nice to be recognized by staff (actually shows they do remember who you are) Well done, keep it up we will be back (again) and such a lovely place to visit.

REALLY ENJOYED MY STAY AT THE CARDRONA, NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL, EVERYTHING WAS VERY GOOD, LOVELY WARM ROOM,SUPER COMFORTABLE BED, GOOD FOOD, EXCELLENT SERVICE. HAVE BEEN TO THIS HOTEL OFTEN AND EACH TIME IT SEEMS TO GET BETTER, HOPE TO RETURN AGAIN SOON.

A lovely, relaxing stay. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and welcoming. Food excellent. Have visited this hotel on a number of occasions and have always been impressed.

Bedroom was comfortable. A bit old fashioned furniture.food was superb, especially dinner, wonderful. The hotel was very busy, few people were complaining, mainly larger groups. We had no problems at all. Pool superb. Great value.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very busy and there was not a lot of space in the bar. The golf course and food were excellent, dinner was slightly small portions though.

Apart from rooms not being ready on time, we could not fault it and they did give us drinks free of charge while we waited ,,, staff were very friendly ,, room was spotless and food was spot on ,,will go back soon

Service in the Spikes bar was poor in the afternoon around 4pm, 1 person serving behind the bar and he complained about this most of the time he served and there were queues for drinks. Overheard him telling another customer that he had ran out of vodka - seriously a hotel of this size. Again, service during the evening meal was very poor had to remind the staff of our drinks order and then received a letter in the room that evening saying that the hotel was very busy and that we may need to wait for breakfast or for an additional charge request room service. The service at the spa and the golf was exceptional.

Although exceptionally busy, dining room, reception & housekeeping staff were invariably friendly, obliging & professional. They made all the difference to pleasure of our visit. It was unfortunate then that my spa treatment was a real disappointment. Again, they'd been very busy but the masseuse was clearly intent on finishing for the day as soon as she could, & the treatment was 20 not 30 mins long, was far from the deep tissue massage I'd requested. She didn't even introduce herself which was a shame because it felt very impersonal. It did take a bit of the shine off an otherwise superb weekend. And the men in our group really enjoyed the golf course. At

On the whole we had a very pleasant time. The room we requested was allocated to us and we were provided with the robes that we asked for. The room is a great size with a very comfortable bed. The room provides all that you need for an overnight stay. The food in the restaurant and the staff are very friendly and professional. The hotel just can't seem to cope well when the hotel is busy and the dining room is full. People are left waiting for a long time and this then causes an atmosphere in the dining room . We were quite lucky we don't mind waiting between courses. On our special classic Britain Christmas present deal that we used detailed that you receive a bottle of wine in the room. Oh my goodness it was awful and only 11% alcohol. Never had a bottle of red wine at that %. So therefore it was one up from a black currant drink. We poured it down the sink and told the staff.

Bedroom and bathroom clean but both could do with refurbishment. Cracked tiles and minor damp in bathroom. Service generally good but afternoon tea/coffee was cool before scones arrived several minutes later. Americano coffee was weak and tasted like filtered Coffee. Dinner menu on our second night was almost identical to the first night although the quality was good. Breakfast quality was good but the buffet set up was not permanent and could do with improving. We chose a McDonald hotel believing it would top quality and were slightly disappointed. The setting ( next to the river Tweed ) was lovely and the area quiet. If McDonald's take care of the minor 'faults' then the quality will improve and the overall experience will be better.

room was lovely and very clean, however wine we had in our room for our deal was like vinegar and not even the wine they offer in the bar. The staff are lovely but they need to be more engaging with customers. The bar is far too small for such a big hotel and needs a bigger seating area! The food was absolutely fantastic though!

Pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Food was excellent and staff very attentive. Unfortunately I had a problem after I left the hotel when the hotel contacted Classic Britain to say that I had left without paying which was not the case. I am still awaiting an apology.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. Our room was very spacious, which was great considering we had a dog. Food quality was excellent, service in general was very good. We did have a few little issues but these were resolved and the staff involved in these issues were training and this is understandable.

All staff most friendly & helpful. Restaurant was extremely busy but we were advised of this & hotel had worked out measures to cope with the high demand. Great value deal with Clasic Britain. Went on website immediately on return to check for future availability!
