Had a wee night away with my sisterinlaw what a great night , lovely clean hotel staff very welcoming absolutely fabulous meal at night, Harry the singer was singing just give use a fab night loved it we will be back thank you very much

Had a lovely 2 night stay just for a break and found the hotel to be very clean rooms were nicely decorated staff were very polite we had meals both nights from set menu only let down was that they did not have 2 of the dishes on the Sunday night so was very limited to what could choose overall a very nice welcoming hotel

Friendly staff nice hotel needed more staff at breakfast knew there was a wedding only one waitresses on till 8am evening meal the same waiting time almost an hour for dinner.

we have stayed at this hotel on several occasions as usual the staff are very helpful with great service and great food the hotel is clean as are the rooms and the hotel is warm and inviting with good car parking we will return again and would recommend this hotel to anyone it is very good value for money

Had a very pleasant stay. Both my husband and I had been ill and the hotel allowed us to postpone for a week,which we appreciated. We were given an upgrade and had a lovely quiet room. Meals were nice and good value for money with an upgrade as well. Would recommend and would visit again.

This was my first visit but my wife uses the hotel often. However, one or two irritations on this visit.Dinner menu not as good as before..Appeared to be a shortage of staff.My sister phoned the hotel and gifted us a bottle of wine but "front of house" failed to pass the message"On day two no lunchtime chef but another helpful member of staff went off to the kitchen and produced 2 X soups.Breakfast on day3, shortage of staff which meant tea/coffee was self service from large vacuum jugs,The tea was "stewed" and not very hot. We ordered porridge which eventually arrived and was uncooked! Apart from this everything else was ok.

we had a lovely time staying at this hotel, only minor hiccup was booking in when we were told we had the best room in the hotel only to find when we paid the bill, there and then, that it was a different party with the same surname, so slightly disappointed, however overall stay was very good, would definitely recommend this hotel, facil good and nearby Gretna Village worth a visit. Breakfast lovely with good selection on offer.

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Gables hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The deal we had was well worth the money. We will definitely return again.

Another good stay here. Have not always had dinner here but took advantage of the DBB deal. Cannot complain at the price but the choice of main courses is very limited. Rooms clean, staff helpful and breakfast ok. But must remember the room number to avoid if possible as that's twice now - my back does not like that bed!

Stayed there overnight with my wife hotel was fine food was decent but during the night the cistern kept running mouse was so annoying had to use toilet in reception when I told the staff was informed that handy man starts at 1030 which was no good to me emailed the hotel to let them have a discussion about the bad experience they haven't got back to me so all in all Dissatisfied

Great small family hotel. Stayed 2 years ago at the same time before xmas and decided to return for another visit and was not dissapointed either time.. Room 5 was lovely, shame about poor shower tho, food and service all excellent. This year entertainment was on the whole weekend, although we only made the Friday night it was very good, nice party atmosphere, a nice surprise. Very good for Gretna Gateway Outlet and getting train to Carisle for the day. Will definately be back. Many thanks.
