Had a wonderful time at the Derwent Manor.The hotel is very modern inside but also has kept original features such as fireplaces. The bedroom was big,The bed huge and so comfortable. Evening meals were included in our deal.We had three courses and cannot fauit anything.Meals were delicious and cooked fresh for us.Decent portions and presented nicely. The staff are lovely and friendly. We would lime to return here and next time use the swimming pool which we did not have time to do.

Our third visit to the hotel and second since the rooms were refurbished. We enjoyed the break with our friends, who were also satisfied with their stay. I'm not sure if the high rail in the wardrobe, or the bathroom, will stand the test of time, neither are particularly user friendly.

Second visit to the hotel enjoyed our stay very much indeed only small point I would make is that the pasta dishes are very large and could not finish the main course. Staff were very attentive and we will return again lovely part of the country.

Stayed for 4 nights on DBB basis in October 2017. Food excellent, restaurant staff very friendly, attentive and efficient. Great to have the option of a 3 course set menu or £15 towards the main menu, we tried both and all meals were very good. Very accommodating for allergy sufferers. We booked a twin room for 2 adults and 2 infants. On arrival we were allocated a suite which was larger with extra living space but does not appear to have been renovated/modernised like other rooms in the hotel. We asked to move to one of the renovated twin rooms which was more to our liking/needs and despite the hotel being busy the reception staff were very accommodating and made it happen there and then. The swimming pool is quite small in a separate leisure facility but in very good condition and warm, the gym upstairs is very well equipped. Nice little play park in the grounds that our kids enjoyed playing at. There is very little to do within walking distance, but it is an ideal quiet base from which to explore Northumberland and County Durham. Only issue was with water pressure in the bathroom affecting both the shower and toilet flushing.

We had a very good break. We had a very spacious room and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.. The pool and spa were well kept and at a lovely temperature with beautiful views from the spa. The food, both dinner and breakfast was very tasty and service great.

Our 3rd visit in 5 months to this hotel. Great location for visiting Beamish and Durham. On going improvements are a big improvement (our first visit was about 8 years ago) Good food and lovely staff.We did have some problems our first night but they were not representative of the usual standard at this hotel? Love the swimming pool but haven't used the gym I don't like the coffee machines but kettle was available,thank goodness

Had a great time again . We were given one of the cottages which were spacious with a lounge area kitchen, and bedroom with an en suite. It was very comfortable . Once again the food was excellent and the service was first class.

A fab hotel and the food was fantastic. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was the complimentary bottle of wine in the room - the seal was already broken and the wine tasted as if it was off, there as a wine stain down the label of the bottle which was suious!

Booked this hotel for our anniversary. I could not fault the hotel staff for the way they looked after my wife and I. It was our first visit to this hotel, the room we were allocated was faultless and massive, the decor, comfy beds and cleanliness of the room was second to none. The restaurant staff were also very attentive and friendly. The food was of a great standard and the meals we had were delicious. The gym equipment was great and so was the pool and spa facil. I hope to return to this hotel with in the near future. Thanks for a great stay.

Could not fault the hotel and staff, verygood value for the money paid. The only thing missing was a masseuse. Rooms excellent,all staff were excellent freindly and always smiling and the food was excellent.
