The overall experience was ok. Me and my partner didn't really enjoy our stay compared to different hotels we have stayed in. The room we stayed in on the second floor was very small. It wasn't the cleanest room either. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceeling and dirt along the skirting boards. We thought that staying in the country would mean a lovely view but no, we overlooked a very dirty courtyard which needed maintaining. The check in staff were polite and provided us with good service when checking in and when ordering room service. The food was of a good standard. For cleanliness reasons I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

Lovely hotel, quite remote. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, unfortunately only had velux type roof windows so no view. Food was delicious.

We enjoyed our stay at Buckatree Hall, but have the following comments: there are plenty of tables at breakfast, but for some reason the staff don't seem to be able to clear them and re-set them quickly enough. Items run out and are not replenished quickly. Staff don't seem to be trained to react quickly, so customers are left to ask for things when they shouldn't really have to. The food is good and worth waiting for especially the cooked breakfast which is kept nice and hot. The plumbing needs looking at. We really struggled to regulate the temperature in the shower and the blocked toilet on our last morning was really annoying. This is clearly common as nobody seemed surprised when we reported it.

Lovely setting in a good area. Staff cheerful and polite. Breakfasts good but didn't experience Dinner in the restaurant because we were not informed that we needed to pre book a time with reception! Bar meals were good though. Bar service was hit and miss during the day but better in the evening. They have a bell to push when you want bar service but no one answers it, we ended up having to go to reception to aske them to find someone to serve us! Our room (107) had no view, the bathroom extractor did not work nor could we use the safe, but the main problem was the wardrobe door falling off. This was reported to reception within an hour of our arrival but no action was taken over the four days of our stay. However the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the linen very clean. Decor could do with updating though throughout the hotel. We formed the opinion that this establishment had some staffing problems and was in need of better leadership from management.

Very dissapointed with Buckatree Hall. Stayed saturday and sunday night but wanted to come home sunday. Placed in the room directly above reception, room 23. Reception doors banging all night, reception music playing all night. Had no sleep all weekend. The room had a horrible smell. the room was very dated, it was also dusty and thr bathroom was mouldy and rusty. There was no blind to the bathroom window which was right next to the toilet. On checkout we was not asked if we had enjoyed our stay or if anything could have been done and we wasn't wished a safe journey home or anything. The hotel is very dated which is a shame given its lovely rural location. The staff were not approachable including the one cleaner I saw. The fire alarm went off very late sunday night which woke me up, i got out of bed, got dressed to be told it was a false alarm! The car parking is very disorganised and left us without a space saturday night due to a wedding reception. We had been out for a meal and when we returned we did not have a space. The Wi-fi was absolutely shocking! We didnt't eat or drink at the hotel. We definitely will not be returning to or recommending Buckatree Hall.

Nice but tired Hotel. The staff on the whole were very good but I felt that there were not enough of them, particularly at peak periods in the dining room. There appeared to be a lack of clear leadership. The only real downside was the cleanliness of the bedroom we were in. There was thick dust covering the feet of the coffee table and on the ledges of the drawers. I spoke to the receptionist as we checked out and she did assure me that she would pass this information on to the head of housekeeping. I hope she did. Having said all this, nothing detracted from a really good weekend. A definite plus was the food. Well done Chef your food was great. Thank you.

This hotel is situated in a lovely location, with views over the fields and hotel lake. We enjoyed chilling on the balcony. The food was well presented and there was a good atmosphere in the hotel. We will be back soon.

Buckatree Hall is a haven of peace in a tranquil setting. The bedrooms are very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The food was excellent with a wide choice of dishes. The hotel is close to many National Trust and English Heritage properties and in good walking country.

Really enjoyed our stay; staff were helpful and happy to advise on activities in the area. My only criticism is that the plugs were a bit dodgy in the bedroom, and as a result, I blew the fuse in my hair straighteners!
