My husband and. My brother I law and sister I law we're looking forward to a nice chilling night away but unfortunately the hotel was over run with children running around the hotel .it seems there were 80 children .but felt the reception could have spoke to either the parents or the children .have a grandchild myself but felt our relaxing break was wasted .food wasn't that warm so disapponited with our night away .

Excellent DBB offer. Have 2 children under 5 so the split rooms & swimming pool were ideal.

Room cold had to get heater no directions from reception how to find our way about had to returns steak not cooked to requirements food cold when complained told sorry and that was it guests allowed to smoke And drink outside in garden are next to rooms even at 2,3 and 4 in the morning I have put a complaint into hotel waiting on reply receptionists not verypolite

The Hotel is a beautiful place to stay, but the upstairs bar restaurant service was shockingly bad. I dined alone and I had to approach the bar twice to enquire if the waitresses were going to take my order, both times told they would be over to see me soon. Then I ordered what was a very expensive steak, and it arrived no better than 'warm'. I wasn't going to wait any longer to reheat it, so I rushed eating it and left without dessert or coffee. Very disappointing.

Service in upstairs restaurant could have been better - served main course before clearing starters, observed a number of meals being taken to wrong tables, not offered further drinks etc.

Family room was shabby, 2 single bed pushed together to make a double bed but with single duvets on each bed. Room needed a good clean as it was very dusty and glass doors has fingerprints all over them. Service in the restaurant on the sat night was terrible due to a wedding being on, we sat down at 8pm with 2 small kids and still didn't have a drink or starter by 9pm! Food in the golf club and service was very good on the Sun night. Staff very nice but service slow. We will stay again as apart from the rooms and the disaster on sat night the hotel is very nice.

Enjoyed our stay , excellent value Food although limited selection and only one restaurant open was of a very high quality and good service Upgraded room and very clean and spacious but no air con so room was a bit uncomfortable at times if this was resolved rooms would be a 9+ Pool and leisure area looked a little tired and need some TLC , good size pool but not 5 start Staff very helpful and friendly ??

For our stay at the 'Westerwood' my husband and I were accompanied by his mother who is eighty eight. Our overall feeling was that the hotel was trying to cater for too many demands and as a result our stay was disappointing. We appreciate that some rooms are undergoing refurbishment and that is reflected in our grading. We arrived to have lunch but the table we sat at was drafty due to a constant open door leading to the golfers nineteenth hole area. We decided to book dinner but to request a table away from the open door. We were informed that none were available - all were booked. Our eating time was 6:15pm and we arrived to a half full dining room indeed by the time we left there were still a number of 'booked' tables that had not been filled. We were seated one table down from our lunchtime placing and I repeatedly had to close the offending door until a party of golfers started to do it for me from the inside. Funny how they understood my mother-in-laws needs whilst the staff on duty did not. Mum chose haddock and chips which was excellent. My lamb was undercooked but my husband offered to eat it and I took his oriental chicken dish. On beginning to eat my husband couldn't in fact chew the lamb so had to return it. When offered a replacment dish he opted for the same oriental chicken. I believe the hotel must have been using the same suppliers as our local Chinese takeaway because both my husband and I commented on the similarity. Neither meal was finished. The sweets we ordered were delicious. At a nearby table we witnessed a young woman's birthday celebration being ruined when their food was repeatedly returned, re-ordered and apologised for. The Maitre D' certainly earned his wage that evening! We left the Westerwood with a great deal to talk about, unfortunately little of it good. My husband and I are keen golfers and our visit could have been the pre-cursor to a longer stay, sadly that is no longer the case.

Dear Mr Duncan, Thank you kindly for your honest and constructive feedback to which we fully take on board. Firstly if I may offer my heart felt apologies as this is not the standard level of service we endeavour to achieve. In relation to the rooms, yes we are going through a light refurbishment at present and apologies for the inconvenience that has caused. What I find somewhat more disturbing is that we failed your expectation in regard to the food and certainly from our side the service and communication. Having reviewed the comments and discussed with our Executive Chef, we have company standard suppliers to which I believe supply hotels only and therefore I believe the issue with the dishes was in our preparation methods to which of course we fully accept as not good enough on this one of occasion. We are in hospitality because we care, we have a passion about it and a care for our valued guests and when we read feedback as honest and fair as yourselves then it hurts us, however we use to develop and inspire our team to do far better. I do hope we have an opportunity to change your impression and please feel to contact ourselves in future when you are coming back as I believe we will restore your faith in The Westerwood Hotel and team. Convenient location between Glasgow and Sterling. Large hotel, we stayed 3 nights DBB in upgraded room. Everything great.Both breakfasts and dinners were delicious, food quality impressive. Nice bar/lounge area to relax in. Best of all the super friendly and efficient staff. Would definitely hope to return.

This was our 3rd visit but we were disappointed with the housekeeping this time. Bedrooms were not up to scratch. Dirty mirrors and badly stained chair. Generally poor housekeeping throughout. Dirty tables in bar etc. however could not fault food or service both excellent.

I had the nicest night at the Westerwood. I had booked this for a treat for a 60th birthday present and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Can't wait to go back.

The food and accommodation at Westerwood Hotel is fantastic . Our only fault is the floor tiles in the swimming pool area are very slippery and great care is needed.

We had a lovely stay in the Westerwood. Staff were very helpful, rooms and food lovely. We had a fair walk to our room which might not be suitable for anyone with a mobility problem but was not a problem for us. Again depending on where your room is, it can be quite a walk up to the Grill where we had our dinners. Not a complaint just an observation
